Kazuo Inamori: People who really see through this world are practicing with suffering

Kazuo Inamori: People who really see through this world are practicing with suffering

First, people are forced out, do not force yourself, you never know how good you are

When you are in trouble and struggling, if you have a sense of urgency that you must succeed no matter what, you will find the phenomenon that you usually ignore, and then find clues to solve the problem.

It is often said that the phrase "the explosive power of a fire scene" is said.

People tend to take refuge easily, so they must consciously force themselves into a mental state of no retreat from time to time, so that they can produce results that even surprise themselves.

Especially when the environment is harsh, it is even more important to remember this truth. In order to solve various problems, I often deliberately force myself into desperate situations.

In the face of the harsh reality, instead of choosing to escape, choose to confront the problem head-on, deliberately force yourself into a dilemma.

After graduating from a local university, I joined the "Matsukaze Industries" in Kyoto, where I began to study precision ceramics, but I did not have the relevant professional knowledge in advance, so I was not a good technical talent.

I was originally interested in petrochemical chemistry, especially organic chemistry related to synthetic resins, which was my main direction in college and the predetermined topic of my graduation thesis.

However, because I could not find a job before graduation, I finally got a pottery job that belonged to the field of inorganic chemistry, so I could only temporarily change the theme of my graduation thesis to inorganic chemistry, and I completed the thesis with a grinding gun.

But I'm not interested in inorganic chemistry. With continuous research, I finally succeeded in synthesizing a new ceramic material.

Later, I learned that before me, the research institute of General Electric in the United States had developed the same material, and a year after their successful development, I used a completely different method to achieve the synthesis of the material.

As a result, this material became the main product of Songfeng Industry at that time, and it was also the main product of Kyocera in the early days of its founding.

It stands to reason that people like me graduated from local universities and did not have the relevant expertise to successfully synthesize this new material.

There is a saying in the Kyocera Philosophical Handbook that as long as you work hard and push yourself to the limit, you will eventually get the "revelation of the gods".

Of course, the inspiration comes from each person's own efforts, but I think it can be thought that the gods saw us groping and moved our compassion and gave us inspiration.

In this way, continuous accumulation can inject life into the life script and let it unfold in reality.

Second, on the road of life, we must run at the speed of 100 meters sprint

I often use the marathon as a metaphor to talk to employees about Kyocera's business.

"Kyocera is a company that has just been born in Kyoto, like a fledgling young man. The young man tried desperately to practice long-distance running, but he was wearing rubber-soled stockings and thin pants, which was very shabby and did not look like a marathon runner at all. But, seeing him running so hard, someone said, 'Looks like he can run for a while.' So he pushed him from behind, and the young man stumbled and ran a marathon, running into the business competition of corporate competition. ”

Kyocera was founded in 1959. Kyocera's entry was very late.

In this race, there are many century-old big companies, who start training very early like famous marathon runners with rich experience and good results.

Such companies know very well how to allocate their physical strength reasonably to complete the 42.195 km journey. In addition, there are many entrepreneurs who have made a rapid career after the war, who are full of vitality and actively participate in the competition.

A newcomer named Kyocera arrived late and joined the competition.

In this case, this amateur player from the countryside, if he still runs at his own pace, has no chance of winning.

So, I ran with all my might from the beginning, that is, I ran a marathon at the speed of a 100-meter sprint. I worked day and night, desperately and feverishly.

Seeing this, employees and investors naturally reminded me:

"Working so hard, working so hard, will bring down your body." Business operation is a long-distance race, like you at the beginning of the desperate run, will not be able to catch their breath, halfway down will fall, it is impossible to run to the end. ”

But I think that since you have participated in the race, you must use the speed of the 100-meter sprint and shorten the distance between you and the leading camp.

Moreover, if we are doomed to fail to win at the beginning, then at least we must sprint hard in the first half of the journey, and let the world realize our existence. So, I insisted on running with all my might.

So something interesting happened, we continued to run at the speed of a 100-meter sprint, and we didn't fall, we were still walking like a fly.

Moreover, the company has continued to grow and surpass those who were previously leading enterprises and become the first in the industry.

Leaving aside the real marathon, in life and business, it is entirely possible to continue to run at a speed of 100 meters.

Third, the only thing that can change the status quo is oneself

When I was young, I unfortunately suffered from tuberculosis. After the hard work of healing, the fate of failure and frustration with me is still unbroken.

I did not volunteer to apply for the university entrance examination, so I had to enter a local university. Although I had excellent academic performance in college, I graduated at a time when the economy was not good.

I had no background, no access, and failed the job exams. Graduates of new universities in those places sometimes don't even have the opportunity to interview.

I couldn't help but curse the injustice of the world and lament my bad fate.

Why am I such a miserable person? Buy lottery tickets, the numbers before and after are won, only I do not win.

Eventually, with the help of a university professor, I finally entered a factory in Kyoto that produces insulated porcelain bottles.

After going in, I learned that the company was very shabby and facing closure, that late salaries were commonplace, and that the operators were still fighting among themselves.

The company that was hard to get into was in this state, and several college students who went in at the same time as me complained when they met, and discussed every day when to resign.

Soon they found a new job, resigned one after another, and finally left me alone.

People are very strange, once forced into a dilemma, but want to open, relaxed.

Since complaining about the world is useless, it is better to change your state of mind by 180 degrees, simply put your energy into work, and immerse yourself in research.

So I moved all the pots and pans into the laboratory and forced myself to concentrate on experimenting every day.

As a reflection of changes in mood, research results have also begun to appear. When I saw good results, my boss praised me, which prompted me to be more engaged, and then I produced better results. Thus entered a virtuous circle.

That is to say, everything that happens to oneself is created by one's own mind, which is a fundamental principle.

After all kinds of setbacks and twists and turns, I finally understood this truth that runs through life, and this truth was engraved into my heart.

Experiencing the ups and downs of life, understanding that their fate is opened up by their own hands, even such wise people, their luck and misfortune, the lows and peaks of life, without exception, are also caused by their own "heart".

The seeds sown by oneself will surely blossom and bear fruit in oneself.

Yes, fate seems to exist in our lives, but it is not a "fate" that human beings cannot resist. Fate can change as our mindset changes.

The only thing that can change our destiny is our hearts, and life is created by ourselves.

Fourth, anything that can make you better, the process will have pain

As mentioned earlier, the "U-shaped insulator" I developed became an indispensable component for the manufacture of television picture tubes, and our company received a large number of orders from the Panasonic Electronics Industry.

It is this product that gives the crumbling company hope of reviving itself, and the expectations of the whole company are concentrated on me alone.

It was also the technology and performance at this time that laid the foundation for the future development of Kyocera. And this "initial success experience" made me realize an important truth:

Even in the midst of suffering, as long as you work hard to live and work, you can bring incredible good luck.

"That guy is pathetic." People around me said that. I think it is not necessarily a bad thing for people to be in this unfortunate situation for a period of time.

In this lifetime, if one does not experience pain and trouble, it is difficult to have great development, and one will not grasp true happiness.

I have encountered countless difficulties and setbacks in my life, but just as the black chess pieces on Othello's chess board suddenly returned to the white chess, the difficulties and setbacks later became the basis of success.

Looking back now, I feel that the things that I thought were painful at first all brought me good results.

Thinking about it this way, the difficulties and setbacks in life are the starting point of my life, and perhaps my greatest "luck".

For example, I unfortunately entered the Matsukaze Industrial Company, which has been losing money for many years, and when I was left alone among the college students who came at the same time, "Inamori Jun is really pitiful, he works hard in college, his grades are so good, but he can only stay in such a broken company, his luck is too bad, and his life does not know what will happen in the future." ”

My friends said this about me, I don't know whether it was sympathy or ridicule.

Seeing colleagues forge ahead one by one with their own skills, but I have nowhere to go, only to shrink into this unfortunate company alone - a sense of despair makes me almost have a nervous breakdown.

However, now that I think about it, it is this kind of misfortune or trial that teaches me that only by working hard and taking the initiative to force myself to make changes can I bring good luck to my life.

In this sense, suffering and setbacks are the best gifts God has ever given me.

Insisting on working hard and working hard in the face of adversity, all my successes now are built on this foundation. If I hadn't experienced hardships and setbacks, been admitted to prestigious schools, and worked in large companies, my life would have been completely different.

Kazuo Inamori: People who really see through this world are practicing with suffering

Fifth, people who really see through this world are practicing with suffering

Endure the impact of all kinds of winds and waves, taste the bitterness of the world, or happiness or sadness, until the breathing stops, we all work tirelessly and tenaciously.

The process of life itself is like sandpaper that tempers the soul, and in the process of tempering, people enhance their mental nature, cultivate their spirits, and leave the world with a higher level of soul than when they were born.

I think that's the purpose of life, and there's no other purpose in life.

Today is better than yesterday, tomorrow is better than today, and every day is a sincere effort. In the process of this unremitting work, we embody the purpose and value of our lives.

Nine times out of ten things are not going well in life. Sometimes we even resent the gods and Buddhas, why only let me go through so much suffering?

But it is these sufferings that can temper our souls. To see suffering as a test, we need to think about it that way.

The so-called suffering in life is a perfect opportunity to temper one's personality.

Those who can see the test as a perfect opportunity for growth, and furthermore, this life in this world is a period of time that God has given us to enhance our mental nature, and it is a place that God has given us to temper our souls--only those who hold this view can bear fruitful fruits in a limited life and bring endless happiness to the people around us.

Hemingway once said: "Superior to others, not noble, the real nobility is superior to the past self." ”

Every time you experience pain, you have completed a transformation and met a better self.
