In the summer of 2020, Modu, the second floor of a red-brick and stone Kumen house, the hundred-year-old Mu Lijuan, completed her life from ups and downs to calm, at the age of 103. I don't know if at the end of her life, she ever remembered or was still thinking of a person - the famous poet of the Rain Lane Sect - Dai Wangshu, the first husband of the old man Mu Lijuan. At that moment, would she be glad that she had left him decisively?
This year, a full 71 years have passed since Dai Wangshu's death, and 77 years have passed since the two divorced. The river of years has so quickly crossed the sky.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="8" > obsessed with Shi Chenian</h1>
Before knowing Mu Lijuan, Dai Wangshu once had an unforgettable love. The object of love is shi Chenian, the sister of his classmate Shi Zhencun.
In 1927, the Revolution failed, and the then 23-year-old Dai Wangshu lived in the home of his classmate Shi Jingcun. Because the relationship with Shi Sting was really good, the people who were with the Shi family gradually became very familiar with each other, and they were like a family. At this time, Shi Chencun's 18-year-old sister Shi Chennian broke into Dai Wangshu's sight and knocked on his young heart. Shi Chenian has a lively and cheerful personality, combining beauty and talent, so that Dai Wangshu, who is new to love, has a heart like a fawn, and he hopelessly falls in love with this girl who is five years younger than him.
People who are in love, especially those who are good at writing, always like to express their emotions with words. Poets, on the other hand, are better at using poetry to express their meaning. I have seen the photos of Shi Chenian, thick eyebrows and big eyes, goose egg face with slightly thick lips, so that the contour lines of her face are particularly distinct. From Dai Wangshu's poem "My Lover", we can probably speculate on Shi Chenian's character style: I will tell you that my lover / My lover is a shy person / She is shy / With a peach face / Peach lips / and a sky blue heart.
The 18-year-old girl, although lively and cheerful, full of sunshine, but in the eyes of the poet, she has a peach face and lips, she is shy, she has a sky blue heart, such a shy and sky blue heart, it should be said that a woman who has just come of age, facing the unknown love world and the natural mood of the boy who is eager to show love to her, after all, she is like a sunflower, just blooming out of the brightness of youth.
However, Shi Chennian did not seem to be optimistic about Dai Wangshu, and although Dai Wangshu was tall, his skin was dark, and he was not the appearance of a cultural person in Shi Chennian's mind. And because he had smallpox when he was a child, his dark face was still covered with pedestal spots and scars, which made Shi Chenian especially unbearable. In addition to the appearance that Shi Chennian could not accept, Dai Wangshu's personality also made it difficult for Shi Chennian to accept. The poet's personality is deep and delicate, especially persistent to emotions, Shi Chenian has a cheerful and lively personality, an 18-year-old woman, the picture of life has just unfolded in front of her eyes, the future has infinite possibilities in her heart, can not just meet a tree, think that she has encountered the whole forest. Not to mention that the tree itself didn't grow as well as she thought.
Everyone's rejection is always gentle and subtle, she treats him in a calm and smiling way, perhaps in his eyes, not explicitly rejecting is even a default, or there is a girl's shyness, so she chases him more and more. However, to her, he was really not the person she wanted, and the more he had to chase, the more she had to flee. In 1928, in order to determine the relationship with Shi Chenian, Dai Wangshu even jumped off the building to the point of force. For a moment, Shi Chenian may have been touched by his sincerity, and his brother Shi Zhencun tried his best to match, so when Dai Wangshu's parents came to the door to ask for an engagement, Shi Chennian still agreed. This kind of consent, in hindsight, is more like a delaying tactic, when a person threatens to jump off a building, who knows what kind of stupid things he will do later? Refusal may cause human life, so it is better to find a way to suspend it. From this point of view, it has to be said that Shi Chenian is a smart woman.
Even if they are nominally engaged, Shi Dai is unwilling at the end of the year, she feels that this person is not what she wants, and their personalities are too far apart. So he excused himself that he was still young, and at the same time said that Dai Wangshu should also say that he should achieve a good career, and suggested that he study abroad. This is the second trick of Shi Chenian's strategy of slowing down the army: far away, we can slowly solve the matter of two people, which is better than the current knife cutting the mess without so much pain, much easier to accept.
"Holding up an oil-paper umbrella, alone / wandering in a long, long / lonely rain alley / I hope to meet / a lilac like / A girl with a grudge." The publication of "Rain Lane" made Dai Wangshu famous in the poetry world, he loved a girl, his inner resentment and wandering, not so much to let him meet a girl with a lilac like a grudge, but rather, he used this poem to express his inner resentment and wandering.
Finally, in October 1932, Dai Wangshu fulfilled his promise and left Shanghai to study in France on the "Dartan" mail ship. Every day in France was like a year, and he wanted to return from school as soon as possible and marry his beloved woman, but from time to time, the wild goose that flew from the country told him that his beloved woman already belonged to another heart, although he was particularly reluctant to admit such a reality, but in the thousands of mountains and rivers, he had nothing to prove, and he could not do anything about it. What's more, Shi Chen's fewer and fewer letters and tenderness that had long disappeared still made him guess what kind of result would be. In May 1935, when Dai Wangshu returned to Shanghai, Shi Chenian had already thrown himself into the arms of others, and everything was irretrievable, and Dai Wangshu had to choose to publish a newspaper to dissolve the marriage contract.
This year, he was 31 years old.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="41" > meet Mu Lijuan's decisiveness</h1>
The brothers of the world seem to have the same hobbies, and when they meet their classmates and peers, they must enthusiastically give their sister Zhang Luo to each other to promote good relations, as if this can make the water not flow to outsiders. I never thought that the Youth Day talent who was excellent in all aspects in the eyes of my brother was really suitable for her sister.
Shi Shicun was like this, and so was Mu Shiying.
After Dai Wangshu returned from studying in France, he returned to Shanghai and found that everything with Shi Chennian was irretrievable. At this time, he borrowed to live in the home of his good friend Mu Shiying, Mu Shiying found that his good friend was talented, and he had just encountered the departure of his beloved, and Mu Shiying did not care whether Dai Wangshu was suitable or not, so he introduced his 19-year-old sister Mu Lijuan to Dai Wangshu, this year, Dai Wangshu was 31 years old, and the difference between the two people was exactly 12 years. It was late spring and early summer in 1935.
Mu Lijuan's tall nose bridge, a pair of deep dimples are fascinating, a pair of large watery eyes under the slender eyebrows, and a very cute smile. Young Mu Lijuan was born with a thin waist of willow, pure and virtuous, like the Daiyu in Baoyu's eyes at first glance: delicate like flowers shining on water, acting like the wind blowing willows. At that moment, Dai Wangshu seemed to have suddenly forgotten the pain caused to him by Shi Chenian's insistence on leaving not long ago.
It turns out that real emotions don't need to be obsessed at all, and when a new person walks in in your heart, the empty position will soon be filled. In the winter of that year, Dai Wangshu entrusted a good friend to help him propose to Mu Lijuan's mother, and obtained the approval of Mu Lijuan's mother, and the wedding was scheduled for the following year. In June 1936, the two were married at the New Asia Hotel in Shanghai. The poet Xu Chi served as chancellor. At that moment, Dai Wangshu must have been particularly satisfied, Shi Chennian finally turned the page in his heart, and a new life opened in front of their eyes.
It should be said that there was a good time. Soon after their marriage, they had a daughter, the only daughter of the two of them, but they did not use Mu Lijuan to run the housework. Mu Lijuan once told a friend that after marriage, she did not have to take care of the house, and everything in the family was taken care of by the nanny, one was responsible for cooking, and the other was responsible for taking care of the children. When I was bored, I would learn English at home, or read ancient texts, practice calligraphy, and occasionally go out with Xu Chi's wife Chen Song to watch movies and shop to pass the time. Sometimes, Dai Wangshu held literary salons at home, and Mu Lijuan also listened quietly or participated in them.
It was a good time, in Mu Lijuan's eyes: "We have always lived in peace, he is in charge of everything." Dai Wangshu usually likes to read and write in the study, and rarely talks to me. "This is probably the problem of most Chinese marriages in that era: thinking that the wife is married home, everything is rested, there is no need to communicate or cultivate common interests. Dai Wangshu's own introverted personality in his bones has aggravated this problem. When I first got married, the newlywed Yan'er, you and I, plus Mu Lijuan was still young at that time, and she couldn't see any problems. Over time, problems slowly emerge. Mu Lijuan's sense of independence is increasing, Dai Wangshu always regards her as a child, and even pocket money is not assured to give her, probably because she thinks that a little girl like Mu Lijuan, there is a nanny waiting at home, she will not use money. You're only responsible for playing on your own.
A major event that followed pushed the contradictions between them to an irreconcilable point.
In June 1940, Mu Lijuan's brother Mu Shiying was stabbed to death in Shanghai, and why Mu Shiying was stabbed is still a mystery. At that time, Dai Wangshu and Mu Lijuan were living in Hong Kong, and after Mu Shiying was assassinated, Dai Wangshu prevented Mu Lijuan from returning to Shanghai for funeral because of his different political views from Mu Shiying. This made Mu Lijuan very puzzled and at the same time sad and desperate to the peak. When Dai Wangshu returned from studying in France, he borrowed to live in Mu Shiying's house, it was Mu Shiying who took him in, saw that he was depressed and depressed, and in order to dispel his sorrows, he was very enthusiastic to introduce his smart and beautiful sister to him, and this uncle can be said to be Dai Wangshu's big matchmaker. However, at this moment, Dai Wangshu had left all these things behind. What he did even more was to withhold the telegram sent to Mu Lijuan by his relatives in Shanghai and hide all this from her, until others inadvertently reminded Mu Lijuan that she could not wear red and green during the funeral, and Mu Lijuan learned the news of her brother's death, went home to blame Dai Wangshu, and only then did she learn the truth, and she couldn't help but be shocked.
Even at this point, he still wouldn't let her go back to Shanghai. Mu Lijuan had to drop an emerald brooch given to her by her mother, and took her daughter on a cruise ship back to Shanghai without hesitation.
The marriage came to an end, seeing that everything was finally irreparable, Dai Wangshu begged Mu Lijuan bitterly and fruitlessly, wrote a letter of death with his wife, took poison and committed suicide, and was rescued by friends to survive. Seeing this, we may think, if Mu Lijuan had known long ago that Dai Wangshu had forced Shi Chennian to jump off a building in order to achieve marriage, after all, if it did not work, would she still marry him? Of course, all assumptions do not exist. As an aside, After leaving Dai Wangshu, Mu Lijuan later married Zhou Li'an, the editor-in-chief of Cosmic Wind, and was accompanied by love for decades until Zhou Li's death in 2003.
Someone once asked Mu Lijuan if she was the "girl with a lilac-like grievance" in Dai Wangshu's poem, and Mu Lijuan said that Shi Chenian was it.
<h1 class="pgc-h-arrow-right" data-track="45" > was rejected by Yang Jing</h1>
In 1942, more than a year after separating from Mu Lijuan, 38-year-old Dai Wangshu met Yang Jing, a scribe at the Datong Book and Printing Bureau, and soon fell in love, when Yang Jing was only 17 years old. Yang Jing's parents learned of Dai Wangshu's past married life and vigorously opposed the marriage, but Yang Jing was determined to marry Dai Wangshu, who was 21 years older than herself. The age gap, the difference in personality, coupled with the lack of in-depth understanding between each other before marriage, soon after marriage, there are emotional rifts, and quarrels are commonplace. At the end of 1948, Yang Jing, who felt that she and Dai Wangshu could no longer live together, fell in love with a young man surnamed Cai, and proposed a divorce to Dai Wangshu, Dai Wangshu made various efforts to hope to save it, but Yang Jing's heart was absolutely irreparable, Dai Wangshu has been dragging on and refusing to sign the divorce agreement, and finally Yang Jing had no choice but to run away from home with the youth surnamed Cai and completely left Dai Wangshu.
Even in the name of eloping, you must leave him, how determined!
Throughout the three women in Dai Wangshu's life, there are many things in common, they all have beauty, and Dai Wangshu is relatively young when they met, but they all have a strong personality, and they all choose to leave decisively under the circumstance that they recognize each other's personality and character, and never drag the mud and water. And Dai Wangshu was the painful retainer every time, knowing that the departing person's heart could not be retained, but he had to be strongly retained, and finally he made himself scaly, and he could only watch the other party leave.
"Holding up an oil-paper umbrella, alone / wandering in a long, long / lonely rain alley / I hope to float through / A lilac like / A girl with a grudge." The last paragraph of "Rain Lane" is written like this, from which we can probably see that Dai Wangshu himself is the "girl with a lilac-like grievance" in his poem. Beautiful poetry, left for people to appreciate, as for the person who encounters such a character in life, it is better to stay away from him.
