The word "Wangshu" in his name comes from Qu Yuan's "Departure from Sorrow": "Former Wangshu made pioneers, and later Fei Lian made Ben subordinate." "
This means that Qu Yuan wandered into the heavens and the earth to explore, sitting in the car of the Dragon Horse, with the luna god Wangshu in front of him and the wind god Fei Lian in the back.
Wangshu is the god of the moon in myths and legends, both beautiful and gentle, pure and elegant.
The word is full of Qu Yuan's romantic feelings. And Dai Wangshu, as its name suggests, has a romantic and amorous life.
And this has become the root of his love tragedy.
It was three women who had been entangled with his life, and the suffering in his life mostly came from the love between him and these three women.
And this first woman is Shi Chenian, who is known as the "lilac girl prototype".
Dai Wangshu loved to read since he was a child, and in 1922 he published literary works publicly, and he also established the Orchid Society in Hangzhou with Zhang Tianyi, Shi Jingcun and others.
The connection with Shi Jingcun was a very important point in Dai Wangshu's life, and it was precisely because of this that he met the first love that made him nostalgic for a lifetime.
This is Shi Jingcun's younger sister, Shi Chenian.
After the defeat of the Great Revolution in 1927, Dai Wangshu had no choice but to temporarily take refuge in Shi Jicun's home in Songjiang County.
At this time, Dai Wangshu was 22 years old, it was the age of youth, he saw Shi Chenian at a glance, and since then a seed has sprouted in his heart.
Dai Wangshu's love came warmly and passionately, he wrote "Rain Lane" for Shi Chenian, and the beautiful Shi Chennian was exactly what he imagined the lilac girl looked like at that time.
Because of the good education she has received since childhood, although there is a shyness of young girls, her personality is lively and cheerful, and her personality is rich, which is not completely consistent with the miserable and sad girl in Dai Wangshu's "Rain Alley".
However, Dai Wangshu persistently regarded Shi Chennian as his ideal, and despite Shi Chennian's indifference to him, he launched a fierce pursuit of her, hoping to impress him with this.

One day, Dai Wangshu was preparing to send the written manuscript to the Modern Monthly, but he made a mistake in sloppiness, sending the manuscript to Shi Chenian as a love letter, and mistakenly sending the love letter to the Modern Monthly as a manuscript.
Under normal circumstances, the manuscript received by Modern Monthly should be returned immediately, but it did not expect gengzhi's editor to directly publish this love letter in the magazine without changing.
This incident became sensational news at the time.
But no matter how Dai Wangshu pursued, Shi Chennian was unmoved.
Maybe the fate is like this, Shi Chenian has always behaved quite rationally in this matter, how talented Ren Dai Wangshu is, Shi Chennian just has no feelings for him.
It is said that "when a woman does not like you is the most beautiful", Shi Chenian's calm self-preservation and imminent departure from Dai Wangshu did not make Dai Wangshu give up, but let him hand one love letter after another to Shi Chenian's hand.
This love letter that contains Dai Wangshu's infinite feelings did not impress Shi Chenian, and the little sister of the Shi family just took it apart, looked at it for a moment, looked at it twice when she thought about it, and most of the time turned a blind eye.
And our affectionate poet Dai Wangshu was so distressed by Shi Xiaomei's attitude that he finally threatened to die and committed suicide by jumping off a building to force Shi Xiaomei to agree.
It can be seen from here that there is an extreme side to Dai Wangshu's personality. He was impulsive, melancholy and determined.
This is actually related to an experience he had since childhood.
Dai Wangshu had a smallpox when he was a child, and although he got better, he left a potholed scar on his face.
Coupled with the isolation he was subjected to during his illness, the gloomy days and the trauma on his face later cast a gray color on his life, which created his inferiority.
Men's inferiority complex is very pitiful and terrible, which is especially evident in Dai Wangshu's three relationships.
Dai Wangshu not only threatened Shi Xiaomei in the name of suicide, but later, when his wife Mu Lijuan proposed to divorce him, he tried to force him to die, and repeatedly used suicide as a means to force the woman to compromise.
It seems that he has briefly gained the upper hand, but in fact, this is exposing Dai Wangshu's inferiority and weakness in his feelings.
And this inferiority and weakness make the happiness he gets in love forever only be short-lived.
Although Shi Xiaomei, who was panicked at the time, had to agree to Dai Wangshu's courtship, she could not like this reckless, rash and extreme man after all.
So Shi Chenian said to Dai Wangshu, "I can agree to marry you, but you don't even have a fixed and stable source of income now, how can I marry you with confidence?"
Dai Wangshu hurriedly said, "Then what do you need me to do?"
Shi Chenian took the opportunity to say, "You should study abroad, and come back to me when you get your degree." I don't want to marry someone who is unmotivated and has been drowning in his own world all his life. "
In this way, although Dai Wangshu was very reluctant to leave his sweetheart, he also knew that this was shi Chenian's only concession, so he had to embark on a journey to study abroad.
During this period, Dai Wangshu wrote countless letters to Shi Chenian, but the other party's reply was always very rare.
Until one day, Dai Wangshu received a long letter from Shi Chenian.
He couldn't wait to open the letter, but suddenly collapsed to the ground.
It turned out to be a breakup letter.
Since agreeing to Dai Wangshu's marriage proposal, Shi Xiaomei has been sullen and unhappy. After Dai Wangshu went abroad to study, it was Xiaomei who felt that she had made an extremely wrong decision.
Spending a lifetime with someone she doesn't love at all is tantamount to the dashing of hope in life for a woman who is in the middle of her flower season.
So she repented and was with a refrigerator salesman.
At that time, the refrigerator salesman was a pretty good position, and it can also be seen that Shi Chenian was a realistic woman, and she was fundamentally different from Dai Wangshu, who was immersed in romantic feelings, and was not suitable for walking together.
And Dai Wangshu's friend, afraid that he would be sad and lost when he heard this news, kept the matter a secret from him.
But as everyone knows, blind deception can only cause greater harm in the end.
Later, Dai Wangshu, who learned the news later, suddenly had no motivation to study, and he neither took classes nor turned in his homework on time at the Sino-French University of Lyon, nor did he take exams in the middle of the year, completely abandoning himself and returning to China immediately when the deadline was reached.
After finding Shi Dai, he found that she had indeed betrayed himself, and the angry Dai Wangshu slapped her on the spot and published a report to break the marriage contract with her.
The fate of this lilac girl and Dai Wangshu was completely severed at this time.

According to the real situation, ten times more beautiful may be a little exaggerated, but Mu Lijuan is indeed very good-looking, not only good-looking, but also has a much more docile personality than Shi Chenian.
According to some people, when Dai Wangshu and Mu Lijuan first met, they seemed to see the girl he wrote about who was like a lilac in the rain alley.
And Mu Lijuan is also a new-age woman who is full of poetry books, when she heard her brother mention Dai Wangshu's poems before, she already had a secret curiosity in her heart, and she had an admiration for this man who had not yet met.
The appearance of Mu Lijuan greatly soothed the pain of Dai Wangshu's loss of his first love.
With a beautiful face, the beautiful and graceful Mu Liying soon captured Dai Wangshu's heart. After half a year of acquaintance, they were engaged in the newspaper, and they also held an engagement banquet, invited a matchmaker at the Juxing Garden, and set a wedding date, just in the spring of the following year.
When a poet encounters a major event in life, he naturally wants to write poetry.
Dai Wangshu, who was full of talent, met his virtuous wife who he thought he would spend his life with, and when the newlywed Yan'er was unhappy, he wrote a poem "Eyes" with a stroke of his pen:
He compares himself to a comet, expressing that his feelings have been fully integrated into Mu Lijuan and intoxicated by her.
But the good times are not long, and the ideal and reality are different after all.
And Dai Wangshu, who is full of poetic temperament and writes his first love feelings so beautifully, actually does not know how to maintain feelings in his feelings.
Therefore, not only did his first love make him miserable, but the next two marriages were still like robberies in his life, making him helpless and difficult to extricate himself.
After a short period of love, the contradictions between the two were quickly revealed. In the poem, Dai Wangshu has a warm and long friendship, but in real life, he hardly knows how to express it.
Later, when faced with Mu Lijuan's request to leave, Dai Wangshu wrote a letter to express his feelings, in which he said:
It's really late.
Women choose to give up a relationship, never overnight, but in the long-term disappointment to consume all expectations, so as to completely dry up, choose to escape.
In his marriage to Mu Lijuan, Dai Wangshu almost only cared about writing on the case, and had very little communication with his wife.
After all, Mu Lijuan was 13 years younger than Dai Wangshu, and when she married Dai Wangshu in 1936, Mu Lijuan was just 19 years old.
After all, she is still a young girl, and she naturally has unlimited expectations for love. The two stood together, one solemn and generous, the other petite and gentle, looking like a pair of bi people, but soon drifted away in silence.
In 1939, because of the War of Resistance, Dai Wangshu came to Hong Kong with his wife and daughter and spent a very comfortable time in Lin Quanju.
At this time, Dai Wangshu's family was well-off, there was a nanny in the family to take care of the housework, and the husband and wife should have walked hand in hand through this poetic day like a fairy couple.
However, the two did not have a tacit understanding with each other.
According to Mu Lijuan later recalled:
In addition to too little communication, Dai Wangshu does not know how to care for his wife in daily life, and his machismo due to inferiority has become a shadow hanging over Mu Lijuan's head.
He thinks that his wife is to return to the family and be a housewife, and the daily conversation is not so important at all.
Dai Wangshu was often a one-man decision and never asked his wife for advice. Probably because of the age gap, he always treated his wife as a child. If it wasn't for his wife's proposal that he needed some pocket money every month, Dai Wangshu might not even know to take out the purchase fee of 30 yuan per month for his wife.
Such a day is monotonous and boring, and Mu Lijuan, who has suffered a lot, once said to Dai Wangshu: "If you oppress me again, I will divorce you." "
But Dai Wangshu always didn't think anything of it, only thinking that this was his wife's joke.
What made Mu Lijuan feel even more sad was that Dai Wangshu did not really let go of his first love, Lilac Girl.
Maybe first love, especially the first love that has not been obtained, is really a nightmare for a man.
For Dai Wangshu, Shi Chennian is both his cinnabar mole and his white moonlight.
Even though they later became home, he sometimes immersed himself in that emotion, even in his poems.
In fact, Dai Wangshu's first book of poems published in 1929, "My Memory", the title page is printed in black and white with the French word A Jeanne, Chinese means "to give the year", and the next page is inscribed in Latin with the ancient Roman poet A. Tiblus's verse, which he himself translated into Latin Chinese is:
Dai Wangshu's eldest daughter, Dai Yongsu, once said: "My cousin believes that Shi Chenian is the prototype of the 'Lilac Girl.'" Although Shi Chenian is not as beautiful as my mother and my father's second wife, Yang Jing, she is very tall, which is very compatible with her father's height of one meter and eighty, and her temperament is similar to that of the grumpy girl in "Rain Alley". Even her own daughter thinks so, and you can imagine how Mu Lijuan viewed this matter at the beginning.
Although this was before the two married, the enveloping of this first love emotion did not completely disappear with the union of the two.
The fuse of the matter was the lyrics that Dai Wangshu composed for the theme song of the movie "First Love" "First Love", which was widely sung, but for Mu Lijuan, this was a great blow, because her husband's first love was not herself, but Shi Chenian.
And the content of this poem made him feel that her husband still had an unforgettable love for Shi Chenian:
Her husband and man have always been around with the shadow of their first love, which is a knot in mu lijuan after all.
So, until the end of life. Mu Lijuan is still angry about this matter. She said: "He has no feelings for me, his feelings are completely given to Shi Chenian. "
No matter how much Mu Lijuan wanted to care, she still couldn't completely ignore this matter. In particular, Dai Wangshu, as a straight man, does not know how to take into account his wife's thoughts in many cases.
Whether Dai Wangshu really can't put down the "lilac flower" or not, whether it is a misunderstanding between the two sides, there is always a gap between the two people.
And Dai Wangshu's "Worry" is exactly in line with the mood of the two at this time:
The above-mentioned incident about the poet's first love has not led the two to the point of irreparability, and it is the following two major events that really led to the breakdown of the marriage between the two people.
Mu Lijuan's older brother Mu Shiying, a former friend of Dai Wangshu, later defected to the Japanese and worked for it.
Dai Wangshu, who was bent on fighting for the Chinese revolution, naturally immediately wanted to draw a clear line with him.
But he ignored the feelings of his wife, Mu Lijuan.
After all, Mu Shiying is Mu Lijuan's brother, and Mu Lijuan does not ask her husband to do anything for her brother, but Dai Wangshu should not force her to break off her friendship with her brother.
Even in 1940, when Mu Shiying, who was in a pseudo-post, was assassinated by Kuomintang agents in Shanghai, Dai Wangshu did not allow Mu Lijuan to return to Shanghai for funerals.
What is even more excessive is that in the same year, Mu Lijuan's mother also died. When the telegram of the funeral was sent, Dai Wangshu, who had already felt his wife's despair, was afraid that his wife would leave him, and even withheld the telegram privately.
So much so that Mu Lijuan did not learn about this matter at the first time, and was completely kept in the dark.
When she did not know the truth, she wore a large red robe to meet her friends, only to learn that her mother had just died.
Dressed in red in hot filial piety, and it was her husband who completely concealed the truth about her mother's death, and caused her to miss the last face with her mother.
Seeing that her husband had acted like this, Mu Lijuan was completely heartbroken this time.
So she dropped the jade brooch left by her mother, immediately bought a ferry ticket, and resolutely returned to Shanghai with her daughter, leaving Dai Wangshu.
Dai Wangshu did not want to give up this relationship, and he tried again and again to save his wife.
But after experiencing these things, Mu Lijuan had already chilled her heart.
The sensitive and fragile Dai Wangshu now attempts to save his lover by committing suicide. He wrote a desperate letter to his wife and committed suicide by poisoning, but was saved by a friend.
But that didn't save him from his doomed marriage.
In January 1943, Dai Wangshu finally made up his mind to send a divorce deed to Mu Lijuan.
His first marriage and second relationship ended in this way in Mu Lijuan's disappointment and the pain of both parties.

In May 1943, Dai Wangshu and Yang Jing married in Hong Kong.
Yang Jing is 20 years younger than Dai Wangshu, and the failure of the last marriage still did not hit Dai Wangshu's pursuit of feelings, and the 17-year-old Yang Jing also had a great curiosity and admiration for this talented and emotionally difficult poet.
And just like that, they came together.
Although Yang Jing's parents strongly opposed her daughter's affair, Yang Jing was a very assertive and somewhat rebellious girl, and she resolutely married Dai Wangshu despite her parents' persuasion.
After the marriage, the two spent a period of stability, and the obsessive poet who was wrapped in love again wrote a poem "Gift" to his wife:
But happiness is not long-lasting, not to mention that the gap between Dai Wangshu and Yang Jing is not only a huge age difference, but also a completely natural and northern personality.
After all, Dai Wangshu was a silent and sensitive poet, and his work also required him to spend a lot of time writing and reading. And Yang Jing is a very free girl.
If you think about it, you can understand that it is the youth, every eye is a temptation, and the spring light outside is just right, how can a little girl who is not yet 20 years old be safe and stable like a middle-aged woman, completely bound to the family?
The two quickly became at odds, especially when Dai Wangshu was smeared as a traitor after participating in the professor's strike and was forced to leave Shanghai and bring his wife and daughter to Hong Kong.
At this time, Dai Wangshu did not even have the meager salary of being a professor at Jinan University, and the family's life reached a very poor point.
Where did Yang Jing, who grew up with no worries about food and clothing, live such a hard life? Soon after, Yang Jing cheated on him, developed feelings with a man surnamed Cai, and filed for divorce from Dai Wangshu.
Dai Wangshu also tried to save it, but Yang Jing was also determined, Dai Wangshu finally had to sign the divorce agreement, and the two took a daughter each.
Since then, the bitter love in Dai Wangshu's life has come to an end completely. And his life is coming to an end.
In 1949, the same year of his divorce, the news of the victory of the People's Liberation Army came back, and Dai Wangshu decided to return to the north.
After the founding of New China, Dai Wangshu engaged in publishing work, and invited his former wife Yang Jing to come to Beijing with her, saying that there was a better future for her, but Yang Jing did not pay attention to Dai Wangshu's kindness.
At that time, Dai Wangshu dedicated himself to his work, and his asthma was already very serious, but in order to be cured as soon as possible to continue the work at hand, he increased the dose when he gave himself an ephedrine injection. As a result, shortly after the injection, his heart beat violently and he fell unconscious on the bed.
By the time Dai Wangshu was taken to the hospital, he had stopped breathing.
At a later memorial service, Yang Jing rushed from Hong Kong to Beijing to say a final goodbye to her former husband.
At that time, Dai Wangshu was only 45 years old.
It is not an exaggeration to say that he died young.
Although Dai Wangshu's life is short, what he has done is something that many people can't match in their long lives.
