On April 14, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released data to show the economic operation of the domestic automobile industry in March this year.
Statistics show that domestic automobile production and sales reached 2.241 million units and 2.234 million units in March, respectively, an increase of 23.4% and 28.4% month-on-month, and a year-on-year decline of 9.1% and 11.7%. From January to March, total production and sales of automobiles totaled 6.484 million units and 6.509 million units, up 2.0% and 0.2% year-on-year.

In March,
Passenger car sales were 1.864 million units, up 25.1% m/y and down 0.6% y/y. From January to March, the company sold 5.545 million units, up 9.0% year-on-year.
Compared with last month, the production and sales of the four major passenger car categories have increased, of which MPV models and crossover passenger cars have grown significantly.
Sales of new energy vehicles reached 484,000 units in March, up 43.9% month-on-month and 110% year-on-year, and the market share increased to 21.7%. Cumulative sales from January to March reached 1.257 million units, up 140% year-on-year and a market share of 19.3%.
Sales of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles have maintained growth, while the growth rate of pure electric vehicles is more obvious. In addition, fuel electric vehicles also maintained a high-speed growth momentum month-on-month and year-on-year, and sales were gradually increasing.
From the perspective of the entire car market, the slight decline in domestic automobile sales in March was mainly affected by the shortage of chip and parts supply, the outbreak of the epidemic in many parts of the country, and the increase in the price of power battery raw materials. However, new energy vehicles still maintain a high-speed growth posture, and more car owners are beginning to abandon fuel vehicles and switch to electric vehicles.
Since March, almost all electric vehicles in China have been increasing in price, with increases of thousands or even tens of thousands, mainly caused by the crazy price increase of lithium battery raw materials. Even so, it still can't stop the rise in electric vehicle sales, Tesla Model Y increased by 30,000 yuan, but the delivery period still has to wait 10 to 14 weeks. BYD's newly listed Han series, less than 6 hours of order volume is close to 50,000 units, which shows the hot sales.
At present, the production capacity of car companies seriously limits the sales of electric vehicles, and once there is a higher production capacity release, sales will continue to be guaranteed. Tesla's Berlin factory and Texas factory opened, and BYD's fifth factory in Fuzhou is also about to be mass-produced, which may allow everyone to mention the car faster.
