History of The Kokai Ujinsha-Shakai

——Reading Miao Yong's long documentary literature "History Will Not Forget"

Because of the working relationship, I paid attention to the books and historical materials on trade unions at home and abroad, but I regret to see that there are not many things about the trade unions reflecting the Red Army period, and there are even fewer systematic introductions. Recently, I read a long documentary literature written by Miao Yong, a famous writer and vice chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, published and distributed by the Mass Literature and Art Society, reflecting the history of trade union struggle during the Red Army period, "History Will Not Forget -- Documentary of Trade Union Activities in Sichuan and Shaanxi Soviet Districts".

Red Star Book Review | Miao Yong's "History Will Not Forget": Trade Unionists Write Trade Union History

The history of trade unions in Sichuan and Shaanxi Suzhou District is a grand historical legend, but due to the lack of "people with hearts" to collect, sort out and excavate, many real historical materials have also been annihilated. Even the revolutionary memory that survived in the hearts of the people in the base areas has passed little by little with the passage of time, and the history of the trade union struggle that flourished here, the vivid details that make people excited, are even more obscured by the crazy long grass... As the book says: History has given us a different Bashan, but all along, it has stood silently behind Qinling...

The writer Miao Yong is a man with a heart, and he has read this page of dusty history, which is about to come alive in the folk or the old paper pile. The conscience of the writer and the sense of responsibility of the trade union cadres made him dare not give up easily. He was acutely aware that he would be the first examiner and comber of these histories. Miao Yong said: "Since I have seen it myself and felt the importance of this history, I have the obligation to let more people understand and be familiar with this page of history." He made up his mind: to write a book, to restore this history, so that more people know it, familiarize themselves with it, and remember it. But when I really started writing, I had very little information at hand. It is said that he went through the history records of more than twenty counties, and the historical records on the workers' movement and trade union activities in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Region are very few records, often only a few lines and a few sentences. He felt the difficulty of writing, but he did not give up, as soon as he had time, he personally went to the people to search for verification, asked those who were still alive and had personally experienced the years of the battle, and successively visited more than 100 insiders; he also took time to go to the relevant museums and memorials of the central, provincial, municipal, and county governments to inquire... Then, a note down. Back at home, when the night is quiet, with a pen and ink full of passion, these vivid histories are interspersed one by one. Little by little, the figures of those battles more than eighty years ago appeared in front of his eyes: it was the fierce battle between the two estuaries, the endless convoys between the mountains, the rumbling machines of the mint, the majestic trumpets on the river channels of the river mouth... There are also layers of trade union organizations that are drowning in the storm of history.

This book is weighty. Its weight lies in the fact that the author grasps a major literary theme and unfolds a picture of the workers' movement that we do not know and aspire to see. The history of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet District is not only a revolutionary history, but also a history of the workers' movement in the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet Region. As soon as the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet was established, the trade unions of one province, two provinces, twenty-three counties and cities, and more than 160 district trade unions and trade union groups of various trades were immediately formed, and in just over two years, three provincial workers' congresses and three provincial workers' congresses were convened. The establishment of trade union organizations has effectively organized the proletariat, which was originally scattered and disorderly, raised the consciousness of the working class, fought for the legitimate rights and interests of the workers, and enabled the proletarian workers' contingent to play a greater role in the rapid development of the revolution. The workers took the initiative and played a highly motivated role, showing a core leadership role. In those arduous years when strong enemies were around, countless trade union athletes rushed to every post in the revolution with full enthusiasm and high revolutionary fighting spirit.

They traveled through the mountains and forests for many years, carrying military supplies, and the fierce mountain songs were gentle among the mountains; they braved the scorching heat, tapped the stones to mine and smelt iron, and the majestic labor trumpets reverberated on the banks of the green water; they worked day and night, minting silver currency, repairing cannons and guns, rushing to make ammunition, and the dim lamps were their long-standing beliefs; they created Red Army hospitals, sewed quilts, and sent the most sincere warmth to the soldiers and civilians in the Soviet region; they dredged rivers, built bridges, and ensured the smoothness of roads with their hands and shoulders; they studied culture. They carried out land reform and helped the peasants to truly unite the hearts of the workers and peasants; they carved red slogans over the mountains and mountains, sowed their firm revolutionary convictions in the hearts of countless people; they held steel guns in their hands, helped the main forces to suppress the stubborn bandits, and personally participated in the battle, eliminated the bully landlords, and protected the victorious fruits of the revolution; they formed workers' divisions, fought in the southern and northern wars, attacked the Japanese Kou, and defended the country... In that particular historical period, trade union organizations and the working class played an important role in history.

This book is valuable. Its value lies in the history of history. In addition to "Introduction", "The Establishment of the Trade Union in Sichuan-Shaanxi Province", "The First Mint in Sichuan-Shaanxi Su District Settled in Tongjiang", "Turning Over Workers Busy", "Stone Carved Slogans Red All Over the Soviet Area", "Transport Army on the Rugged Road", "Iron and Steel Athletes Who Build Bridges and Rivers", "Workers' Division, Vowing to Liberate the Whole Country", "Epilogue: History Will Not Forget" 9 chapters, a total of 200,000 words truly record the stories and scenes of the workers' movement and trade union activities in Sichuan-Shaanxi Su District, and also contains many precious photos, and appends a large number of valuable historical materials of the trade unions in Sichuan and Shaanxi Su District. This is the shrewdness of the writer Miao Yong, who gives this work a unique thickness. The writer Miao Yong poured out his true feelings and truly recorded the historical facts of the trade union battles in that era. The feelings are sincere, the words are simple, "the true feelings are like the clearness of the Ba River, and the simplicity is as unpretentious as the Bashan Mountains".

Thanks to Miao Yong, it is precisely because of his efforts that today, we are fortunate to read this page of history that was almost annihilated by time. Personally feel the historical facts that are full of revolutionary passion, and feel the fighting figures that were active decades ago. At a time when the whole party is carrying out the study and education activities on party history, the publication of this book is a good thing, it is a very good revolutionary traditional teaching material and patriotic teaching material, it will become a starting point, more and more people will pay attention to this period of history because of reading this book, reinterpret that unforgettable years, it fills a gap, and it will certainly inspire more Chinese sons and daughters: do not forget to dig wells in water, and happiness does not forget the Communist Party.
