There are 5 utility model patents and 3 local standards. Over the past 40 years, Zhangye agriculture has flourished, not only building a national corn seed base, planting all kinds of small grains and vegetable seeds to become famous, but also vigorously developing the Silk Road cold and dry agriculture, brand agricultural products are exported to domestic and foreign countries, the demonstration and driving role of water-saving agriculture has been significantly enhanced, and the level of agricultural modernization has been continuously improved, which is full of the hard work and sweat of a large number of agricultural scientific and technological talents, including Liu Jianxun.

To engage in agriculture, the emphasis is on practice. In the long-term scientific research practice, Liu Jianxun's footprints have traveled all over the land of Zhangye, and he has carefully and emotionally masqueraded the development path of Zhangye agriculture. At the same time, Liu Jianxun attaches great importance to the combination of theory and practice, and his article "The Heihe River Basin Should Adopt Different Models for Returning Farmland to Forests" has aroused great concern and relevant instructions from the two vice premiers of the State Council after it was published in the "Information Express" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which has played a great role in promoting the improvement of the mainland's policy of returning farmland to forests. Liu Jianxun also summarized a series of planning essentials for local agricultural development, such as "Zhangye's advantages in agriculture, agricultural advantages in the seed industry", "three thirds of the soil improvement technology", "2+4+3 facilities grape disease and pest control technology", etc., which have played an active role in the promotion and practice. The "Seed Corn 4380 Half-Membrane Tiled Water-saving Irrigation Technology" and "SeedEd Corn 9812 Under-membrane Drip Irrigation Technology" developed by Liu Jianxun's team have been popularized and applied in the production of seed-making corn in the city, achieving the goals of saving 20% of medicine, saving 30% of fertilizer, saving 40% of water, saving 50% of planting, saving 90% of labor (irrigation and fertilization part), and saving 300 yuan of cost and efficiency per mu.

In the past six years, the number of senior professionals in the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences has increased from 22 in 2015 to 42 in 2021, accounting for 65% of the technical personnel of the hospital. The number of personnel with postgraduate degree or above has increased from 1 to 14, and a number of "science and technology" entrepreneurs and "innovative" professional and technical teams have been cultivated.

One person is not strong, everyone comes to farm. As the head of the Zhangye Rural Revitalization Corn Seed Industry Expert Service Group, Liu Jianxun took the initiative to take responsibility, bravely shouldered the heavy burden, led colleagues to conduct extensive research and continuously run, and found out the problems of increasingly serious soil continuous cropping obstacles, increasing pests and diseases, and declining corn seed efficiency of farmers in Zhangye corn seed industry, and put forward practical and feasible solutions. After the team's collective research, it was determined that through the main promotion of "Zhangnong No. 1 technology", corn biological yield increase auxiliary, corn parent material single-grain sowing technology as the main cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing technology, to achieve an average cost saving of more than 300 yuan per mu, effectively promote the high-quality development of the city's corn seed industry. So far, the whole village of the city's corn has promoted 50,000 mu of water and fertilizer integration technology, 80,000 mu of corn biological yield increase aid, and 10,000 mu of corn parental single-grain sowing technology. Good technology to promote industrial progress, while promoting new technologies, the expert team of the Municipal Academy of Agricultural Sciences organized the city's seed industry technical backbone and Hexi College teacher and student training courses, training more than 2,300 people.
