At a special event celebrating the 20th anniversary of kingdom hearts, Square Enix announced the latest game in the series, Kingdom Hearts 4!
The Kingdom Hearts series is a representative of Japanese RPGs, which combines the two major IPs of Disney and Final Fantasy, while establishing its own background and legend, and tetsuya Nomura, the designer of many FF games, has established an industry position with the creation of this series.
In the latest official promo, the story shifts to a modern metropolis, where the series protagonist Sora wakes up in a minimalist apartment, seemingly trapped in an alien world called "Quadratum", and begins to fight a giant monster with black body. At the end of the film, Donald Duck and Goofy are searching for Sora in a dark cave when a mysterious voice arrives, frightening the two.
The promo doesn't mention a specific release date, and the game's development progress is unknown. Kingdom Hearts 3 was released in 2013 with a similar promo, but it wasn't officially released until the next six years, and fans may have to wait a while this time.
On the other hand, the PC version of the game is equally unknown. Keep in mind that this series has always been centered on PlayStation, and it wasn't until last year that Kingdom Hearts 3 followed Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter on PC. Moreover, square Enix's past game PC version performance has shrunk, "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and "Final Fantasy Origins" have exposed the Caton problem, hoping that the future "Kingdom Hearts 4" can solve these problems.
