Last week, when SE decided to celebrate the series' 20th anniversary with the official announcement of Kingdom Hearts 4, players got a major new surprise. Although the game is still in the early stages of development and is still some way from release, some interesting details have emerged.

Recently, producer Tetsuya Nomura revealed some interesting new details about quadratum, the city that appeared in the trailer, in an interview with Famitsu. As the main backdrop to the story of Kingdom Hearts 4, Quadratum is a designed exterior and aesthetic metropolis based on Tokyo.
Tetsuya Nomura said quadratum was "similar to an afterlife" for Sora and other characters from the primordial world, although it was a real world for those who lived in it. Nomura describes it as the "other side" of the world.
"I think the theme of this project will be the contrast between people who are in different positions." He said.
Interestingly, Nomura also revealed that while Sora will have a more realistic appearance when he's in Quadratum (as we saw in the trailer), he'll have a different look when he returns to his original world, similar to Donald Duck and Goofy in the trailer.
Kingdom Hearts 4 is being developed using Unreal Engine 5. SE has not yet announced any platform or release date for the game. Interestingly, the game's trailer seems to hint at Star Wars.
