In January 2020, Geely and Mercedes-Benz announced the establishment of a global joint venture company for smart brands, "Smart Motor Automobile Co., Ltd.", in which the two companies jointly operate and push the smart brand to build the smart brand into a high-end electric smart car brand, and the first product is: smart genie #1.

Smart Genie #1 is a pure electric small SUV based on Geely's vast SEA architecture, the design is led by Mercedes-Benz, and the vehicle engineering development is led by Geely.

Smart brand products in the future will be named after "#" and digital names, smart genie #1 is expected to be produced and listed in China in 2022, and then sold in overseas markets.

The vehicle design still continues the styling style of the concept car, but it is completely different from the previous smartfortwo, the car line is still taking a cute route, but it adds a lot of refinement, and these design techniques will also appear on other models in the future.

The through-through headlights are a very distinctive design of the front, because it is a pure electric vehicle, there is no middle mesh, and the ventilation slots on both sides of the front bumper can cool the brake discs.

The vehicle size is 4270mm/1822mm/1636mm, and the wheelbase is 2750mm.

The body is designed in two colors, and there are not too many fancy decorations on the sides, which looks very simple but also reflects a sense of dexterity. On a level of detail, the new car features concealed door handles as well as frameless doors.

In terms of seat space performance, the new car provides two different colored seats, which can be seen that the front seat style is very beautiful, and it is better for lateral support, in addition, the headrest is also designed to look in line with the positioning of the whole vehicle.

In terms of power, smart genie # is equipped with a rear-drive motor, the maximum power is 272Ps, the peak torque is 343Nm, the use capacity is 66kWh ternary lithium battery, the slow charge 10%-80% takes 3.5 hours, the 150kW DC fast charge can be completed in 30 minutes, and the WLTP working range is between 420-440km.
