Recently, Volkswagen Kanche obtained a set of new Mercedes-AMG GT latest spy photos from foreign media, and the new car will be unveiled as soon as 2022.
The exterior, like the previous photos, strongly suggests that the car will adopt a new design and will be inspired by the Project One supercar, with a more radical and youthful styling design, moving away from the style of the previous generation. At the same time, compared with the new Mercedes-AMG SL, it will be more avant-garde and sporty in terms of design, which can be described as a further improvement.
The second-generation AMG GT features a new SL chassis, which means that the hard top will likely share some parts with the soft top. However, the company says that each car will have a different target audience and purpose. So even though the basic architecture of the cars is the same, the company claims that the two cars will feel different. The SL appeals to those looking for a high-speed and comfortable convertible, while the GT's audience is those who prefer a more focused driving experience.
The power section, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 53 or with a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, has a maximum power of 469 hp, while the GT 63 or the more powerful twin-turbo V8 version produces a maximum power of 577 hp. In addition, the plug-in hybrid model has about 800 horsepower.
