The Xiaomi Poco M4 Pro is equipped with mediatek Helio G96

Xiaomi has previously launched two new POCO series machines in India - POCO M4 Pro and POCO M4 Pro 5G. The company recently appears to be preparing to launch another smartphone of the POCO M4 series, named POCO M4 5G.

The POCO M4 5G will feature a 6.58-inch FHD+ resolution 90Hz refresh rate LCD display with MediaTek's 700 chip and 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64/128GB UFS2.2 internal storage, with a built-in 5000mAh battery and 18W fast charging.

The phone features dual rear cameras, including a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth of field sensor, a 5MP camera in the front, and pre-installed with an Android 12-based MIUI 13.

Speaking of topics, poco M4 Pro.

Shipped in a recognizable yellow-coated two-piece cardboard box, the Poco M4 Pro now comes with an oversized brand – the 5G version opts for a more restricted font size.

The Poco M4 Pro body is 159.9x73.9x8.1mm, 179g. Gorilla Glass 3 front, plastic back, plastic frame; IP53, dust and splash resistant.

1080p resolution is achieved on the 6.43-inch diagonal, with a pixel density of 409ppi, a refresh rate of 90Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz.

Using mediatek's Helio G96 (12 nm) chip, the G96's CPU is similar to that found in the Dimensity 810 5G – it is a 2+6 core setup with several high-performance Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55 units for more mundane tasks. The difference is the clock frequency of the A76s - up to 2.05GHz for the G96 and up to 2.4GHz for Dimensity. The A55s can be found at frequencies up to 2.0GHz in either chip. The GPU is the same between the two - Mali-G57 MC2.

内存: 64GB 6GB RAM、128GB 6GB RAM、128GB 8GB RAM、256GB 8GB RAM; UFS 2.2;microSDXC(专用插槽)。

Operating system/software, Android 11, MIUI 13.

In MIUI 13, what was previously called a breathing light is now called a notification effect. It can work with or without always showing. Basically, this is a more advanced version of the notification LEDs that use the edges of the display - they blink color when new notifications are made. You can also choose the lock screen clock style.

You can unlock the screen via a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The reader is easy to set up, extremely fast, and extremely accurate. You can set the unlock method to "Touch" or "Press" – if you're using your phone without a protective case, pressing can prevent you from accidentally misreading your palm (which ultimately results in PIN entry). 2D Face Unlock can also be used, but it's far less secure than the fingerprint option.

The home screens are open as usual - they're populated with shortcuts, folders, and widgets. The leftmost pane (if enabled) is Discovery for Google. Unlike the MIUI version of Xiaomi or Redmi, the Poco version only has a two-tier interface in the style of App Drawer — you can't disable the app drawer and put all the apps on the home screen. The app drawer itself is the same – by default, it automatically organizes your apps into categories that you can edit completely or disable.
