Perhaps many people have a deep impression of an old movie "The Tempest", in which Xiao Xiang, played by Yu Yang, and Zhao Guangzhen, played by Gao Baocheng, became household names in that era and became the memories of generations. Yuanbao Village (formerly known as Yuanmaotun) in Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province, has a strong stroke in Chinese history, it is the first village of Land Reform in China under the leadership of our Party, and the novel "The Tempest" by writer Zhou Libo and the film of the same name made in 1961 are based on it. More than half a century has passed, and as a solid step in the process of China's history, land reform has shown its great historical significance. In February this year, at the important moment of ushering in the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, China achieved a comprehensive victory in poverty alleviation. Poverty alleviation is the end of the historical stage, but also the beginning of a new life, and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization has become a new historical mission. The movie "The Storm of Nine Sisters Village" is a work of art born on such a historical background and node.

The creation and production of the film has been strongly supported by all sectors of society, the China Film Foundation as the guiding unit, Heilongjiang Provincial Convention and Exhibition Tourism Federation, Heilongjiang Minyan Culture Media Company, Dongfang Shangdian Culture Media Co., Ltd., Geyou Jiuzhou (Beijing) Cultural Tourism Management Co., Ltd. and other units as the joint producer, and invited the Song Tour China Cultural Tourism Industry Organizing Committee as the coordinator and production unit, the film co-production units for the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department and Weiqing (Beijing) Film and Television Culture Development Co., Ltd.

"The Storm of Jiumei Village" (tentative name) is a comedy film reflecting the current rural life, adapted from the novel "Jiumei Village" created by Heilongjiang writer Min Yan, showing the deeds of Jiumei, a young female branch secretary of Yuanbao Village in Shangzhi City, Heilongjiang Province, leading the villagers to start a business and become rich and revitalize their hometown in the new era. Speaking of the original intention of creation, Mr. Min Yan introduced: "In 2019, I met Yang Jiumei, a villager in Yuanbao Village, who set up a rice association, processed black soybean oil by herself, recycled agricultural and sideline products, and sold online, with more than ten platforms, including Kuaishou and Douyin consignment sales, fans from 10,000 to 30,000, leading the members of the association to sell online. From her, I thought of the huge ideological and conceptual changes and cultural improvement of the people in the land reform area, so I came up with the idea of writing a long novel that reflects the great changes in the mountains and villages, "Jiumei Village", and the great changes in Jiumei Village are the great changes in thousands of villages in my vast land. ”

In order to create a high-level art work, the film gathers a strong creative team composed of director Wei Qing, screenwriter Bai Tiejun and actor Guo Jiaming. "The relationship between Chinese peasants and land has been the most important social focus and the theme of various eras for more than two thousand years." Director Wei Qing said that before the founding of the People's Republic of China, Teacher Zhou Libo published the novel "The Tempest", and in 1961, he shot a film of the same name based on Zhou Libo's novel, which had a huge response in society and became an indelible collective memory of the times. The creation of this film is adapted from the novel "Nine Sister Village" of the black land in the new era, and will skillfully continue the relationship between some of the characters in Zhou Libo's novel and the old movie "Storm", so as to have both a large perspective of historical inheritance and a sense of time and space, and a complete change in the concept of rural life in the current new era from concept to way of survival. We strive to make it a comedy film that not only has a grand theme of the change of the times, but also closely follows the real life of the current rural areas, and strives to make the audience happy and leave room for thinking.

Director Wei Qing said that this time will focus on the first rural post-80s female village branch secretary in the country's first land reform area that year, undertake some of the character relationships of "Stormy", and unfold the current fiery rural areas with each passing day, hustle and bustle, full of joy and unprecedented life scenes. The blurring of the boundaries between urban and rural life brought about by the digital economy, the substitution of network resources for traditional land and other concepts of production means, and the traditional and modern conflicts of self-image and value identification, all of which provide wireless imagination space and vivid life foundation for the creation of this film.
