The Xiaomi App Store closes the 32-bit single-package upload portal for new applications

IT House news on April 2, in order to promote the 64-bit process of Android apps, major app stores have listed the upload requirements for 64-bit app packages.

According to the IT Home netizens, developers have received the Xiaomi App Store "Notice on Closing the Entry of New Application 32-bit Single Package Upload", on April 1, 2022, new listing applications will no longer be allowed to be listed separately on 32-bit application packages, and the game is temporarily unrestricted.

Xiaomi said that at present, the Arm architecture will gradually limit the operation of 32-bit applications, and the 32-bit applications on the qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and MediaTek Tianji 9000 platforms that have been listed only support running large cores, which will lead to some experience problems such as heating power consumption in 32-bit applications; in the future, chips will gradually weaken 32-bit support, resulting in compatibility experiences such as 32-bit applications running hot. Arm's IP architecture for flagship machines, which is expected to be available at the end of 2023, will only support 64-bit.

IT Home learned that the Xiaomi Open Platform released the "Notice related to the upgrade of the 64-bit architecture of Android Apps" last year:

End of December 2021: Existing and newly released apps/games that require uploading an APK package with a 64-bit package (support for dual-pack on-the-shelf and 64-bit compatible 32-bit forms, no longer accepting APK packages that only support 32-bit)

End of August 2022: Systems with 64-bit hardware will only receive APK packages with 64-bit versions

End of 2023: Hardware will only support 64-bit APKs, and 32-bit apps won't run on endpoints
