Guobo: "Zhaozi China" exhibition on a bright bronze ware

When people gather for a drink, they are often described as "staggered". The chip is the chip for the liquor order, and the bow is the wine vessel. What is this wine vessel called 觥? It is a bronze wine container popular from the Shang Dynasty to the early Western Zhou Dynasty, with circled feet or four legs, with a lid, and mostly made into the shape of an animal or mythical beast. The biggest difference from the beast-shaped figure is the lid, which is made into the shape of the animal's head connecting the back ridge of the beast, and the flow part of the beast is the neck of the beast, which can be used as a pouring wine. Famous ones include the Father Yi Of the Shanghai Museum, the Ri Ji of the Shaanxi History Museum, and the Dragon Shape of the Shanxi Provincial Museum. The book fold in the Baoji Bronze Museum is a very outstanding bronze piece.

At the exhibition "Zhaozi China - Baoji Unearthed Bronze and Golden Essence" held at the National Museum, he appeared in a booklet, of course, with the precious historical materials and calligraphy provided by the inscriptions on the other vessels.

Don't read the text, just the instrument type, this piece is also special. It' black, really black, black, black!

Bronze in the Shang Zhou called Ji Jin, so the true color should be golden and brilliant; after that, the years let the bronze be more common; pure copper is soft, difficult to make weapons, the hardness will increase after adding tin, the metal tin is silvery white, and the high tin content in bronze will be white, which is the reason why the weapon is more white.

Why is this fold black and black? I don't know the proportion of copper, tin and lead in this bronze, such a black hypothesis is that the surface was treated when it was made, forming a dense layer of oxide on the surface of the bronze. This bronze artifact was excavated from Zhuangbai Village, Shaanxi Province, and is famous for its No. 1 cellar. The north is dry, and the "way" to produce patina is blocked, staying in the black color of the beginning of production.

More than two years later, folding black and shiny debut!

It is usually an animal or mythical beast. This piece is like a sheep at first sight, and if you look closely, it is not a sheep. Standing in the middle of the two big horns is someone who says it is a bird, which looks more like a cow from this angle?

The bright black surface is definitely not oxidized by years, it should be the result of special processing at the time of production, a uniform, dense, and shiny black "protective layer".
