These ceramics are made of paper fibers in wet clay, so they are light and easy to hang. Nishikawa used a coiling technique to create uneven surfaces and irregular shapes, digging holes in the clay after the clay had dried, then coloring it and firing it in an electric furnace.
Explaining the inspiration behind this, Nishikawa said, "I love my hands because I can make things that didn't exist before appear in my life, like breakfast, painting, and Ragtime music." I can make tools, I can make shapes, I can make lights, I can make spaces, I can do shows, I can make friends, I can also give them tools so that they can make things too. ”
