The heartbeat is suddenly fast, and watching out for this is the problem

Some time ago, a girlfriend who was a programmer told Zhimei that she had recently participated in the research and development of a new project, and she stayed up late almost every day to work overtime to catch up with the product launch.

These days, she suddenly began to feel chest tightness, and sometimes her heart was still beating, and she didn't know if there was anything wrong.

ZhiMei listened, and quickly suggested that she do a 24-hour Holter electrocardiogram, and the result was that more than 8,000 ventricular premature beats were captured!

But it frightened her.

In fact, not only zhimei's classmate, many people in life have found out the early beat, but they don't know much about it.

Does premature beat mean that there is something wrong with the heart, is it serious?

Today, Zhimei will give everyone a good plate.

Some premature beats are not related to organic heart disease and are transient.

The so-called early beat can be simply understood as the heart "disobedience", and there is a beat in advance.

For example, suppose the heart beats every 1.5 seconds, and if a heart beats again within 0.5 seconds after the beat, it is called an early beat [1].

Just like the third wave in the following figure:

The heartbeat is suddenly fast, and watching out for this is the problem

Premature beats from the atrium are called "atrial premature beats", and premature beats from the ventricles are called "ventricular premature beats".

The atrium and ventricles here, like the bedroom and hall in the house, are the two main parts of the heart.

The heartbeat is suddenly fast, and watching out for this is the problem

The causes of premature beats are complex.

Even healthy people may experience premature beats in situations of nervousness and anxiety, stress, overwork, and excessive smoking, alcohol, or strong tea and coffee [3-5].

This functional premature beat is usually relieved by removing the trigger, relaxing the mood, and resting more.

However, some of them are caused by diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction and coronary heart disease that we are familiar with, and relatively rare hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and dilated cardiomyopathy can also cause premature beats.

Therefore, if you have a family history of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular disease, it is still recommended to go to the cardiology department to register a number, especially for people who have chest tightness and chest pain after exercise.

The heartbeat is suddenly fast, and watching out for this is the problem

Studies have shown that single-onset atrial premature is not associated with sudden death, but if there is both premature atrial and preventricular, the risk of sudden death is 6.39 times that of healthy people, regardless of whether there is organic heart disease (such as coronary heart disease, hypertensive heart disease, cardiomyopathy) [6].

Studies have also shown that even without significant heart disease, the cardiogenic mortality rate in people with premature beats is more than twice as high as in healthy people [6-8].

But you don't have to worry too much, now the diagnosis and treatment of early beats is very mature, as long as you seek medical treatment in time, it is generally no big problem, more is to remind everyone to pay attention to heart health.

Specifically[9], if premature beats do not bring significant symptoms, lifestyle changes can be tried after doctors have ruled out possible underlying heart disease.

If there are frequent premature beats, frequent panic (like a small rabbit in the arms), decreased exercise tolerance, weakness, dizziness, etc. [10].

It is recommended to follow your doctor's advice and choose antiarrhythmic drugs or catheter ablation for treatment [11].

The heart of a young man is not easy either!

At present, the fast pace of staying up late and working overtime has made the hearts of many young people bear "everything that should not be borne at this age".

This situation continues, and the heart may be tired until one moment it suddenly collapses and strikes.

Therefore, if you usually stay up late and work overtime, it is best to pay more attention to whether there are several symptoms [12, 13]:

Inexplicably feeling flustered and chest tightness;

The feeling of a pause in the heartbeat, as if a beat has been missed;

The heart is like being hit;

Dizziness, neck impact, blackness, etc.

Once these conditions occur, it is actually the heart that reminds you to make lifestyle changes quickly, and to see a doctor for a professional examination and evaluation.

Great if you don't have the above situation! But also try to do the following 5 points to start protecting the heart earlier:

1

Get enough sleep every day

Try to sleep at the same time every day - get up, whether it is 7 hours or 8 hours of sleep, as long as you sleep enough for 6-8 hours [14], and wake up the next day without being tired, which is a relatively high-quality rest.

2

Stay away from alcohol and tobacco, drink tea and coffee in moderation

Healthy adults are advised to consume no more than 400 mg of caffeine per day, no more than 2 cups of American coffee per day (about the size of a cola can) is safer, and it is recommended to put 3-5 grams of tea leaves (one yuan coin weighs about 6 grams) for tea [15,16].

3

Sport is the most cost-effective maintenance

Healthy adults are advised to do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity exercise per week, or 75 minutes of high-intensity exercise [17,18];

If you really don't have time, you can walk in the office for 10 minutes during your lunch break, use the stairs instead of taking the elevator, or walk for 10 minutes before taking the car home.

Accumulate a little every day, and the combined exercise time will be a lot.

4

Buy health care products, it is not as good as a balanced diet, less salt, less sugar and less oil

A balanced diet and a "light" taste are not only not easy to gain weight, but also protect the health of blood vessels and various organs.

5

Care about yourself a little more

Regular physical examinations focus on the health of blood sugar, lipids, blood pressure, thyroid, etc. [13], which are also closely related to the health of the heart.

The heartbeat is suddenly fast, and watching out for this is the problem

While our hearts are still young, take good care of them.

In this way, it can accompany us for a longer time.
