On March 27, according to the Russian Satellite News Agency, Google has stopped certifying the smartphones of Russian BQ company running Android due to U.S. sanctions, so the company will turn to the Hongmeng system built by China's Huawei. And is expected to release a response model in the second half of 2022, and then, in response to this news, Huawei responded: there is no plan to launch a mobile phone equipped with Hongmeng overseas.

In the hongmeng system released nearly two years ago, equipped with Hongmeng mobile phone nearly a year after the listing, finally a second mobile phone manufacturer clearly stated that it should adapt to and use the Hongmeng system, which is a huge positive for the Hongmeng system, for Huawei, but Huawei's statement is a bit confusing. Obviously it is a positive, why deny it?
In fact, Huawei has no plan to launch a mobile phone equipped with Hongmeng overseas, there may be more interpretations, from the text point of view, Huawei is just not ready to launch a Huawei brand mobile phone equipped with Hongmeng overseas, but it does not prohibit BQ from adapting to the Hongmeng system, after all, Hongmeng is an open system, from the logical point of view, BQ can be used and adapted to the Hongmeng system.
After BQ was disabled android system, Hongmeng may be its best choice, but using Hongmeng system will still be a huge challenge for BQ. Due to our unfamiliarity with the Russian market, we cannot know the influence of BQ mobile phones in the Russian market.
However, from the public information, BQ will only launch three mobile phones in 2022, and even in the whole year of 2021, it will only launch 4 mobile phones. From the perspective of the 2021 mobile phone market share released by the famous market research company Canalys, THE TOP5 manufacturers have already occupied 86% of the market share, that is to say, others manufacturers, including BQ, must divide the remaining 14% of the market share. BQ also has no influence in the international market, which can show that BQ is a weak manufacturer even in Russia, and its mobile phone shipments are actually quite limited.
After all, a new system not only allows consumers to recognize, but also for users who are accustomed to Google GMS, changing their usage habits is also a huge challenge. And because Hongmeng has not yet operated internationally, therefore, to use Hongmeng, BQ not only has to invest a lot of money and manpower to adapt to Hongmeng, but also faces the need to carry the app store, seek support from APP providers and a series of time-consuming and labor-consuming work, which requires huge financial support.
Of course, Huawei has done a lot of work before this, as early as 2020 in order to accelerate the elimination of Google GMS has invested 10 million US dollars in Russia to support the development of the HMS ecosystem, and the promotion and application of HMS is conducive to greatly reducing the difficulty of Hongmeng to get started, and if BQ is ready to use the Hongmeng system, I believe that Huawei will also give enough support in the ecology.
In short, BQ uses Hongmeng and faces great difficulties, but the us sanctions stick make Hongmeng one of the few choices for Russian mobile phone manufacturers, including BQ. Crisis crisis, in a dangerous environment, will this become an opportunity for BQ, an opportunity for Hongmeng to go abroad and promote it? There are still huge variables in everything.
