In preparation for future fertility and breastfeeding, a girl's body begins to store fat during puberty [1]. Boys tend to weigh heavier during adolescence, but girls gain fat far more each year than boys. Girls gain about 1 kg of fat per year, while boys only gain 0.2 kg per year [2].

From puberty, girls grow meat (fat) at 5 times the rate of boys until adulthood is stable. After so many years of accumulation of meat, women's body fat is higher than men's, and it is naturally more difficult to reduce.

Speaking of which, I couldn't help but pinch my own little belly...

Testosterone is a steroid hormone that is secreted by the testicles of men or the ovaries of women. Testosterone stimulates protein synthesis, inhibits protein degradation, and promotes muscle growth[3].

After a large number of anti-resistance exercises, the testosterone concentration increases, helping men gain muscle and lose fat after exercise. And women's testosterone secretion is very small, which is of little use for sports fat loss; and if a woman's testosterone secretion is too high, it will have a devastating impact on health, which may lead to infertility or obesity.

Girls don't have to worry, and then lose weight and fail to move this reason out, ensuring that other people (especially men) are convinced!

What is more heartfelt is that women are not only difficult to lose fat, but also love to eat and eat more than men!

Although women say they are "not hungry", when they smell chocolate cake, pizza and other delicacies, the "appetite switch" area in the brain will come alive. Men, on the other hand, do not have such brain regions active [4].

Other studies have found that men's mental health has little to do with diet, but women may need to eat more food to maintain positive and healthy moods [5].

That is to say, on the one hand, in the process of weight loss, women are more likely to resist the temptation of food and eat specially; on the other hand, women have more emotional dependence on food than men, and like to eat when they are happy, and they also like to eat and eat when they are lost.

Therefore, compared with boys, girls are more likely to lose weight because of poor diet control, resulting in weight loss failure!

Speaking of which, I suddenly felt a pang of sadness as I was losing weight. Forget it, just order a cup of milk tea to comfort yourself...
