iPhone 15 Pro re-exposure: or equipped with face ID under the screen, equipped with self-developed baseband

Every year before the release of the new iPhone series, there will be a lot of information related to it on the Internet. As early as before the release of the iPhone 13 series, there was a new iPhone 14 series of product appearance news.

At present, the iPhone 14 series has not yet been officially released, and there is also a lot of relevant information about the newer generation of the iPhone 15 series.

Past news has shown that Apple may apply a punched screen solution for high-end models in the iPhone 14 series, and cover the entire line in the newer generation of the iPhone 15 series.

However, the latest revelations show that this situation may not occur.

The latest revelations from sources said that Samsung is developing new off-screen camera technology, through which Apple plans to completely hide Face ID under the screen of the iPhone 15 Pro.

That is to say, in next year's iPhone series, the higher-positioned version will apply a small size lens punch hole and a Face ID component completely placed under the screen, rather than the punching combination scheme mentioned in the current revelations.

The report mentions that Samsung's technology will effectively make the Face ID sensor look invisible to the naked eye, similar to the off-screen camera design of the Galaxy Z Fold3 that has already been listed.

The Under-screen camera area of the Galaxy Z Fold3 has a lower pixel density than the rest of the display to allow light to reach the camera components, but this results in a relatively low final photo quality.

Therefore, whether face ID identification achieved through this technology will be as accurate and convenient as it is today is also a matter of concern, and it is not known how such a problem will be solved next.

The news also mentioned that if the development is completed as scheduled, Samsung plans to apply this technology to its flagship Galaxy Z Fold series first, and then appear in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

In fact, this isn't the first time there's been a message that Apple might have placed the Face ID component completely under the screen. Similar product descriptions have appeared many times in previous revelations.

In addition to the drastic improvements in the screen section, other aspects of the iPhone 15 series seem likely to bring new support.

As mentioned in a previous report, Apple has arranged for its main chip manufacturing partner, TSMC, to start producing most of its new modem chips, which are expected to appear in the 2023 iPhone. Apple and TSMC are currently experimenting with the production of 5G baseband chips using the 5nm process, but will be followed by mass production of more advanced 4nm technology.
