Recently, NVIDIA announced at gtc+ 2022 that it will launch drive Hyperion 9, a next-generation autonomous driving platform based on Atlan chips, and plans to mass-produce it in 2026. In addition, the Orin chip used in the Hyperion 8 platform that will be equipped with models such as the Ideal L9 and NIO ET7 began production and sales this month.

Hyperion 9, compared to the current 8th generation platform, has a more than 2 times higher computing performance. The platform supports up to 50 perception hardware, including 14 out-of-car cameras, 9 millimeter-wave radars, 3 lidars, and 20 ultrasonic radars; 3 cameras and 1 millimeter-wave radar can be supported in the car.

The Atlan chip was released at the CTC conference last year, and its target hash rate is 1000 TOPS, while the Orin chip hash rate is 254TOPS, and the delivery time of the Atlan chip is expected to be in 2025. NVIDIA also released the DRIVE Map multi-modal map engine for high-precision maps, as well as the addition of two new partner car companies BYD and Lucid, and 25 car companies and autonomous driving companies have cooperated with them.
