A few days ago, NVIDIA released a new generation of autonomous driving platform - DRIVE Hyperion 9 on "GTC 2022", as an evolved version of DRIVE Hyperion 8, its performance will be doubled. In addition, Nvidia also announced that BYD and Lucid will also use DRIVE Orin chips.

At present, Volvo, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz and other manufacturers have said that they will use NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips, after the addition of BYD and Lucid, more than 25 car companies will use this chip, of which Volvo will start to launch cars equipped with DRIVE Orin chips from 2022.
The DRIVE Hyperion 8 autonomous driving platform based on DRIVE Orin consists of a 360-degree camera, millimeter-wave radar, lidar, and ultrasonic radar, which can realize functions such as autonomous driving. Mercedes-Benz will start carrying it in 2024, and Jaguar Land Rover will start carrying it in 2025.
As an evolved version of Hyperion 8, Hyperion 9 will use two DRIVE Atlan chips, which will perform about 4 times the performance of DRIVE Orin and reach 1000TOPS. The unmanned platform will be equipped with 14 cameras, 9 millimeter-wave radars, 3 lidars and 20 ultrasonic radars, processing twice as much sensor data as the Hyperion 8. This further improves the safety of autonomous driving and enables level 4 and level 5 autonomous driving that is fully automated.
