Based on the upgraded Giorgio platform, the Grecale is positioned as a medium-sized ultra-luxury SUV developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena and produced at the Cassino plant in Italy, with a body length and width of 4846× 1670×1948 mm and a wheelbase of 2901 mm.
In terms of design, the front face of the Grecale uses Maserati's latest trident logo, and the Grecale is also the second model to adopt Maserati's new design language after the MC20. 19-inch wheels are standard on the wheels, and 20- or 21-inch wheels are also available.
The tail design is inspired by the "boomerang" taillight design of Maserati's classic model 3200GT, and uses the new "Maserati" letter logo, and the Grecale's tail also features a new exhaust design.
The interior adopts the design concept of "harmonious unity of opposites and balances", and the instrument panel design is made of saddle cutting technology, and a large number of new materials are applied. The new multi-function steering wheel is equipped with a large paddle shifter behind it and optionally a head-up display (HUD).
The central control area is a large curved screen, above which is a 12.3-inch high-definition screen, which is the largest size screen that Maserati has ever configured in the car, and supports mobile phone CarPlay, speech recognition and gesture recognition, without pressing a button to start the speech recognition system, without touching the screen to achieve partial operation, including raising the temperature, adjusting the air volume, etc.
The Grecale is also equipped with the function of an electric door, the circular button on the door integrates the function of opening and closing the door, no need to pull the door handle, just a single button to achieve the door to open and close. The Grecale has the best-in-class front and rear space, including legroom, shoulder space and head space, more than 570 litres of space in the luggage compartment and 30 litres of storage space in the car. In addition, the rear seats can be flattened at the touch of a button, resulting in more ample carrying space.
The Grecale debut will provide three power versions, namely GT version, Modena version, Trofeo version, of which the GT version and The Modena version are equipped with a 2.0T 4-cylinder engine with a 48V light hybrid powertrain, with a maximum output of 300 horsepower and 330 horsepower, 5.6 seconds and 5.3 seconds of 100 km/h acceleration, and the rear wheelbase of the Modena version is 40 mm more than the GT version.
The Trofeo version is equipped with a 3.0T high-performance V6 engine developed from the Maserati MC20 "Nettuno Poseidon" engine, which has been redesigned and fully optimized, using a wet oil pan, equipped with closed cylinder technology, adding a pre-combustion chamber design, with a maximum output of 530 horsepower, 100 km/h acceleration of only 3.8 seconds, and a top speed of 285 km/h.
The Grecale will also be available in an all-electric version, the Grecale Folgore, which is also Maserati's first pure electric SUV model, which will be available a year after the launch of the gasoline version, featuring a unique matte copper paint, four-wheel drive and 400V technology, equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 105 kWh and a peak torque of 800 Nm.
All versions of Grecale are 100% Italian R&D, produced, manufactured and have a dedicated production line. The new Maserati Grecale will be delivered in the second half of 2022.
