Maserati's new SUV, the Grecale, is officially launched, and the new car is named after the wind, which means a fierce northeast wind sweeping across the Mediterranean Sea. Built on the upgraded Giorgio platform, positioned as a medium-sized ultra-luxury SUV, developed by the Maserati Innovation Lab in Modena and produced at the Cassino plant in Italy, the vehicle has a body length of 4,846 mm, a height of 1,670 mm, a width of 1,948 mm (excluding the rearview mirrors on both sides) and a wheelbase of 2,901 mm.
The Grecale is the second model after the MC20 to adopt Maserati's new design language, and the front face uses Maserati's latest Trident LOGO, which is the same as the MC20's C-pillar logo. Paired with 19-inch alloy wheels, available with 20-inch or 21-inch wheels. The tail design is inspired by the "boomerang" taillight design of Maserati's classic model 3200GT, with a new "Maserati" letter logo. The rear of the Grecale also features a new exhaust design, while a special design feature has been added specifically for the Trofeo model.
The interior is designed with a "harmonious unity of opposites and balances", the instrument panel design is made of saddle cutting technology, and a large number of new materials are applied, including innovative and environmentally friendly recycled nylon (Econyl), made of fishing nets recycled from the ocean, and the interior inserts are made of dark ash.
The dashboard plays animations when the car starts, and the new multi-function steering wheel is equipped with a large paddle shifter behind it, and the optional head-up display (HUD) system can achieve the best display brightness, contrast and viewing angle in the industry. The central control area is a large curved screen, above which is a 12.3-inch high-definition screen, which is the largest size screen that Maserati has ever configured in the car, with a 15-megapixel Ultra HD resolution, integrated in-car infotainment system, gear shift buttons, and comfort function control, and supports mobile phone CarPlay, speech recognition and gesture recognition, without pressing a button to start the speech recognition system, without touching the screen to achieve partial operation, including turning up the temperature, Regulate air volume, etc. Below is an 8.8-inch touch display that can be set up with features such as mood lights, seat angles, air conditioning, and more.
The digital clock above the central control screen replaces the mechanical clock of previous models and offers three dial skins to choose from. Grecale is equipped with an immersive stereo surround sound system developed by Maserati in collaboration with high-end audio manufacturer Sonus Faber, including 21 speakers as well as 3D stereo sound, with maximum power up to 1200W.
Grecale features a new sound that is accompanied by a very special wind chime sound cue when there is a warning or fault warning in the car, which Maserati and the artist developed together and is the first time that this sound has been used in Maserati's products.
The Grecale is also equipped with the function of an electric door, the circular button on the door integrates the function of opening and closing the door, no need to pull the door handle, just a single button to achieve the door to open and close. Rear occupants can also set up three zones of air conditioning according to personal preference via the touch screen on the rear seats.
The Grecale has the best-in-class front and rear space, including legroom, shoulder space and head space, more than 570 litres of space in the luggage compartment and 30 litres of storage space in the car. In addition, the rear seats can be flattened at the touch of a button, resulting in more ample carrying space.
The Grecale debut will provide three power versions, namely GT version, Modena version, Trofeo version, of which the GT version and The Modena version are equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a 48V light hybrid powertrain, the maximum output is 300 horsepower and 330 horsepower, the 100 km/h acceleration is 5.6 seconds and 5.3 seconds, and the rear wheelbase of the Modena version is 40 mm more than the GT version;
The Trofeo version is equipped with a high-performance V6 engine developed from the Maserati MC20 "Nettuno Poseidon" engine, which has been redesigned and fully optimized, using a wet oil pan, equipped with closed cylinder technology, adding a pre-combustion chamber design, with a maximum output of 530 horsepower, 100 km/h acceleration of only 3.8 seconds, and a top speed of 285 km/h.
Grecale features a new Vehicle Dynamic Control System (VDCM), a direct upgrade of the Chassis Domain Control Module (CDCM) based on the Maserati MC20, 100% designed, implemented and calibrated by Maserati. The system, which controls all vehicle dynamics (vertical, vertical, transverse), is at the heart of the new E&E MASAH platform, and the Grecale is the first model to be equipped with this dynamic system.
The new car offers five driving modes, including COMFORT Comfort, GT, SPORT Sport, CORSA Track and OFF-ROAD Off Road.
The Trofeo version will come standard with an air suspension system, and the GT and Modena versions are also available. The air suspension has six levels of suspension adjustment, based on normal mode, with suspensions lowered by up to 35 mm in parking mode and up to 30 mm higher in off-road mode, for a total stroke of 65 mm.
The Grecale will also be available in an all-electric version, the Grecale Folgore, which is also Maserati's first pure electric SUV model, which will be available a year after the launch of the gasoline version, featuring a unique matte copper paint, four-wheel drive and 400V technology, equipped with a battery pack with a capacity of 105 kWh and a peak torque of 800 Nm.
In addition, the new Maserati Grecale will also launch primaSerie's first limited edition, equipped with its own unique configuration.
All versions of Grecale are 100% Italian R&D, produced, manufactured and have a dedicated production line. The new Maserati Grecale will be delivered in the second half of 2022.
