Fan Zhendong was interviewed by WTT reporters: Tribute to Ma Long, let everyone's blood boil

The high-profile WTT Singapore Grand Slam event came to an end on March 20. Fan Zhendong won the men's singles championship and the men's doubles championship, becoming a veritable double champion with the highest gold content. After the game, Fan Zhendong was interviewed by WTT reporters, paying tribute to Ma Long and calm self-analysis, which is worth learning from everyone who works hard for their dreams. The following is a transcript of the interview:

Reporter: Congratulations to Little Fat, WTT Singapore Grand Slam. He was also the singles champion of the first Grand Slam tournament in history. This game is thrilling, I believe that your strong heart has also experienced an experience. How do you sum it up yourself.

Fan Zhendong: First of all, today's game is still very meaningful, and then I am very happy to be able to win. I think today's first Grand Slam final is again against Malone. I think this feeling is self-evident in all aspects. Indeed, as soon as I entered the stadium today, I felt that the whole atmosphere, including the feeling of this arena, could also make everyone's blood boil.

In fact, the front play is still very smooth, including playing the third innings in the middle of the game is also a chance. Basically, the game is still within a controllable range. But Malone used this experience of his, including his varied techniques and tactics, to completely disrupt me. Including the fourth and fifth innings, I feel like I have a chance. But maybe it's not so firm when you shoot. It might be a little flustered. I think after losing two sets, the impact on myself in the sixth set is still very large. It is also a few unnecessary mistakes, and it may be 1:6 behind. Like my post-match interview, there were no other thoughts at the time. It's more about thinking about winning one more point, winning one more point. So winning the final game, I think this change in the whole game, this reversal I think is still very important.

Reporter: I see that you just finished the game, and when you were interviewed, you said, let everyone give all the applause to Malone.

Fan Zhendong: First of all, this is a particularly admirable one, such a teammate is good or an opponent. As far as I am concerned, maybe from a career debut, Malone is already a main player. Even he has experienced many of these setbacks, both and successfully. You can feel that he still has such a simple love for this arena and this table. So when I said in an interview before playing this game, I learned from him not only in terms of techniques and tactics, not just on the pitch. I think this usual attitude, including the purity of facing the pitch, I think it's some of the directions I have to try to get closer to him.

Reporter: From the Olympics, and then to now, what do you think you have broken through?

Fan Zhendong: I think you may see more breakthroughs in the results. But if I had to think about it myself, I think it was more that I had accumulated a lot. But maybe there will be a lot of pressure during the Olympic Games, or there will be a lot of this kind of psychological thinking. Let yourself not break through at the time of the Olympic Games. But I think it may be possible to adjust my mentality through the later games, and then open up the whole person's thinking a little. I think that some accumulation, including some of the original possible efforts, will get some affirmation in terms of achievements. So I think we still need to summarize well, in this relatively smooth time, I have to have this kind of psychology, this string. It is still necessary to be clear enough about this goal.

Reporter: It looks like Singapore is your blessed land, especially in this venue for the second time. Evaluate how it feels.

Fan Zhendong: Just like I said in my post-match interview today, I think it may have been in this venue last time. I am so thankful that the venue, the city, and these fans have left me with such wonderful memories.

In fact, as soon as this competition came up, I didn't say that I was in very good shape. But I think it's probably better than the last. And I think everyone loves our project (table tennis). Including this kind of love for every athlete, it can give us a lot of strength.
