There is a view that the reason for scientific and technological progress stems from human laziness. Walking was too tiring, people invented wheels, followed by cars; summer was too hot to fan fans, electric fans, air conditioners were born; lazy to clean the family, so vacuum cleaners were invented. While I disagree with this view, for some "lazy people" like me, the advancement of technology has indeed greatly improved the happiness of life, especially after I used Stone's latest sweeping robot T8.

Product design
As one of the most well-known intelligent hardware manufacturers in China, I believe that many users are not unfamiliar with the sweeping robot products of Stone Technology, and the Stone Sweeping Robot T8 is its latest model. In terms of design, the T8 continues the classic flat cylindrical appearance of the stone sweeping robot family, and the whole machine is pure white. The machine is 96.5mm high and has a diameter of about 350mm, which can easily pass through the bottom of sofas and beds.
The top front of the T8 fuselage is a local cleaning/child lock button, a cleaning/switching button and a recharge button. Fewer buttons are easy for users of different ages at home, and the learning cost is low and easy to get started. The raised part behind the button integrates the laser ranging sensor and laser head pressure sensor of the machine.
At the front end of the T8, Stone Technology carefully added soft anti-collision strips to avoid damage to the furniture during the robot cleaning process.
At the bottom of the T8, the overall design is similar to the stone sweeping robot T7S. Among them, you can see 4 cliff sensors, a universal wheel and a single-sided brush evenly distributed in the front end; in the middle is the suction port and TPU glue brush of the machine, and the main wheel is on both sides of the suction port; and the tail is used to install the t8 mop bracket.
The soft adhesive brush of the machine is removable and supports washing with clean water. Compared with traditional brushes, this soft adhesive brush can prevent hair entanglement more effectively, and can also adhere more closely to the surface of the floor for a more thorough cleaning effect. It is worth mentioning that the entire brush module of T8 has achieved omnidirectional floating, and the internal four-link structure is better adapted to different material floors (tiles, wood floors, carpets).
Lift the cover plate to see the two-in-one dust box water tank inside the fuselage, and above the dust box water tank is the T8 WiFi indicator and the system reset button.
Different from the previous generation of products, the T8 integrates dust boxes and water tanks. While cleaning the dust box, you can add water to the water tank, which is more convenient to use. The dust box capacity of the machine is 470ml, and the water tank capacity is 350ml, which can easily control the 300 square meters of large apartments.
Dust collection host
I'm using the T8 Smart Dust Collector Edition, so it comes with a dedicated dust collector. Compared with the dust collection mainframe of the T7S, the dust collection mainframe of the machine is slimmer, and the size is reduced to 442×306×425mm.
Taking into account the allergy population, the dust collection host of the machine canceled the transparent dust collection bucket used in the previous generation of products, and internally switched to E12 filter dust bags. The dust bag supporting the dust bucket is a one-time design, which is fixed in the dust bucket using a card slot. The inside of the dust collection bucket has a dust inlet door and a filter, even if the dust falls, it will not enter the fan.
There is a charging shrapnel on the base of the dust collector for charging the T8. In the middle of the base is a dust collection port for collecting garbage in the T8 dust box. Official data show that the suction force of the T8 dust collection host is as high as 27000Pa, which can form a two-dimensional "small whirlwind" in the dust box, clean up the dead end of the dust box more thoroughly, and achieve a dust collection efficiency of up to 95%.
The dust bag supporting the T8 dust collection host adopts the "4+1" composite material of "double layer pre-separation anti-stick layer + double micron-level filter meltblown layer + antibacterial and anti-mildew layer", which is extremely friendly to allergic people. The dust bag can not only efficiently filter dust and dust, but also has a long-term bacteriostatic effect. The capacity of this dust bag is 2.5L, calculated according to the normal household use frequency, and it can be taken and thrown once every 60 days. In terms of details, the dust bag will be automatically sealed when removed, and the whole process will not be dirty hands, no contact with dust, and a dust bag will be provided randomly.
Functional experience
Specific to the actual experience, I believe that the cleaning ability of T8 will definitely not disappoint you. Thanks to the 2-in-1 dust tank water tank, the structure of the T8's interior has been completely upgraded. The suction power of the machine reached an astonishing 4200Pa, and the previous generation of products was 2500Pa. At the same time, the T8's air duct is shorter, and the air intake area is increased to 5 times that of the previous one. A series of internal optimizations coupled with an omnidirectional floating brush module make the machine easy to control the ground of different materials and efficiently complete the cleaning of common household garbage such as paper scraps, rice, coffee powder and so on. Even the dust debris between the cracks in the floor is not a problem.
Thanks to a variety of sensors on the fuselage, the T8 is able to accurately identify different terrains, such as stair cliffs. When encountering a nearby hanging cleaning scene, the machine can be cleverly avoided.
The T8's main wheel supports obstacle climbing up to 2cm, making it easy to cross the threshold and easily climb over the carpet, further enhancing the cleaning scene.
In addition, the T8's side brushes support the latest intelligent dynamic speed regulation design. When cleaning the corners of the wall, the side brush of the machine will rotate at a higher speed to sweep out the dust and hair; in normal travel, the side brush of the T8 will slow down to avoid flying garbage.
In addition to the visible hardware improvements, T8 also uses Stone Technology's latest RR mason 9.0 algorithm. This algorithm, combined with the T8's LDS lidar, ensures that the aircraft can achieve efficient obstacle avoidance both day and night. As shown in the picture, the T8 easily avoided the foot of the sofa during the cleaning process. If an obstacle suddenly appears in front of you on the way to cleaning, the T8 can still quickly dodge.
In the face of more obstacles, such as under the dining table, through the LDS, ultrasonic radar and other equipment to scan the surrounding things, RR mason 9.0 will intelligently calculate the terrain, plan a reasonable travel route, so that the T8's ability to get out of trouble significantly improved.
Along with the T8, there is a more user-friendly and feature-rich Roborock APP. Different from the previous management interface of the sweeping robot, the T8 application home page has added "shortcuts". You can generate instructions such as "whole house cleaning" and "cleaning after meals" according to your own usage habits. Take the "Clean after a meal" command as an example, enter the instruction editing, you can customize the start time and startup frequency of the robot. In the task settings, you can select the location of the kitchen that needs to be cleaned, and set the robot's cleaning suction, mopping water and other parameters. In addition, you can choose the location of the dining table and clean it with the kitchen.
When T8 has completely cleaned the home, enter the robot management interface, you can see the 2D map of the home. The RR mason 9.0 algorithm can also draw a 3D map. On the basis of retaining 2D map elements, it provides a more direct visual experience, allowing you to more intuitively set up forbidden areas and virtual walls.
Not only that, but in the map settings, the user's operability space is also higher. In addition to the settings of the conventional forbidden areas and virtual walls, users can edit the names of different rooms (master bedroom, guest bedroom, kitchen, dining room, etc.) in the map, place furniture (double bed, single bed, multi-person sofa, single sofa, TV cabinet, etc.), and set the floor material of different rooms (tile, floor, default). After setup, RR mason 9.0 will automatically intelligently plan the cleaning sequence and procedure according to the type of room/furniture and the type of floor material. For example, T8 will take the lead in cleaning the master bedroom, guest bedroom and other rooms, using quiet suction + small amount of water when cleaning the master bedroom, and using strong suction + medium water when cleaning the corridor.
In terms of other functions, the T8 supports a wealth of robot voice, carpet pressurization mode, child lock and dust collection mode. The machine also has the function of where to point, remote control, and will also notify the user of the consumables in time.

Overall, the stone sweeping robot T8 is another excellent product. It has a delicate appearance, 4200Pa super suction, a dust bag that is thrown once every 60 days, and the new RR mason 9.0 makes it make up for the shortcomings of the traditional sweeper and drager algorithm and becomes more intelligent. Coupled with the price of 2999 yuan (set), the author believes that such an all-round product will once again be a lot of fans for stone technology circles.
