The manpower occupation that came into being with the advent of reform and opening up has left many deep impressions on our generation over the past 40 years. However, with the development of urbanization, it will become inevitable that this profession will disappear one day, and this work may become a sculptural image of China's former stick. This sculpture uses documentary figurative expression to make people pay attention to this group, and let people feel that they are living around us again in a life-size volume, which is the history that happened around us.

"When I first created it, I used the stick that used to sit under the Kawami stone sign as a prototype, but now when the work is on display, the stick of the year is long gone. In addition to the feeling that things are not human, the changes of small people are looked at in a broader social, historical, and cultural context, which is no longer just a record or a remembrance, it reflects everyone. Perhaps we have been confused, or we are questioning, what is our relationship with ourselves, with others, and with society, how did we get to where we are today, and what kind of future will we go? ("Serving the People" was exhibited at the first Chongqing International Experimental Image Biennale at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts)
