In order to create "Neighbors", Fu Wenjun spent more than 5 years walking the streets and alleys, using the lens to collect the stilt houses on the verge of demolition scattered on the edge of Chongqing city, recording their "charm still exists" Qian's shadows. In a total of 370 finished films, Fu Wenjun selected 37 photos for restoration, re-planning and artistic interpretation, and finally formed the 12-meter-long "Neighborhood Neighborhood".
When talking about the original intention of creation, Fu Wenjun said that with the changes of history, Chongqing's original ecological stilt houses have gradually been replaced by modern high-rise buildings, hoping that with the help of "Neighborhood Neighbors", it can find the traditional culture of the city to the greatest extent, reproduce the fireworks in the old time, awaken the intimate and warm cultural memory of the neighborhood, and convey the expectations of a better life.
Li Wei, a professor at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, once commented: "This is a historical witness to the change of the urban style of the mountain city, an illusory world created by image artists, and a secular nostalgia that carries the call of the soul." ”
It is worth noting that in the form of artistic expression, "Neighbors" belongs to the genre of "digital painting photography". According to Fu Wenjun, "digital painting photography" is a combination of painting elements through digital post-adjustment and multiple exposure photographic images to reveal unique visual effects and emphasize the rediscovery and reorganization of image resources. The "Misplaced" series of works exhibited at the same time also belongs to this genre, and interested citizens can go to the exhibition on their own during the Spring Festival. (Hu Hong, Yan Hongxia)
