Many people should have heard such a story: holding a treasure in their hand but not knowing it, selling it at a low price.
Today I would like to tell you a story that really happened.
In the 1970s, an old lady went to the Beijing Cultural Relics Store with a large blue bowl and told the staff that she wanted to sell the big blue bowl in her hand.

The staff picked up the bowl and looked closely, this large blue bowl carcass was thick and heavy, the glaze color was uniform, but the bowl was seriously dirty and there were some wear marks.
Sprinkle with a blue glaze bowl
The old lady said that this bowl was not short in the family. If you have loaded it with salt and fed it to chickens, you don't know what dynasty it is.
In the end, the staff bought the porcelain bowl for 80 yuan as porcelain from the Qianlong period. Unfortunately, the old lady took the money and left, never to be seen again. Because after that, the staff came to the old lady many times and wanted to compensate.
Later, after many appraisals by experts such as Geng Baochang and Fu Dajie (you third sound), this large bowl was created and fired in Jingdezhen during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty (actually fired at the end of the Yuan), a national first-class cultural relic, and only three pieces remain in the world.
This "sprinkled blue glaze bowl" is exquisitely fired, with blue glaze on the outside, white glaze on the inside, and a blue and white double circle "Daming Xuande Year" six-character model at the bottom. If you don't say that you may think that more than 600 years ago, this was a rice bowl, but in fact, this treasure was used to roll the dice when the harem was playing.
Today, three pieces of blue-glazed porcelain sprinkled during the Xuande period are in the Tianjin Art Museum, one of which was auctioned by the Hong Kong Zhao family for 3.7 million yuan from Mr. Qiu Yanzhi.
At present, this "sprinkled blue glaze bowl" treasure is collected in the Capital Museum and is the treasure of the town hall. Speaking of which, this artwork also witnessed the rise and fall of the Ming Dynasty's strong national strength.
