Call of Duty: Modern Warfare voice actor Barry Sloane, who voices Price, recently released a photo with a prop gun that kicked off a new wave of rumors about Modern Warfare 2.
Sloan's post showed off a prop gun with a "War" tag on the top, covered with pink and red tape for motion capture, and a few other markers that appeared to be related to Call of Duty.
Sloan didn't say a word about the image, but paired it with the "see" emoji, marking it with two eyes, indicating something of interest. That could mean he's nodding his head at the upcoming revelations, or even the fact that the team is working on a modern warfare sequel.
Rumors about the production of a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2019 have been circulating for a long time, but officially have not confirmed it. And this photo seems to add fuel to the fire. After selling 30 million copies of the game, developing a sequel seems like a very reasonable thing to do.
At the moment, there is no official confirmation of the release date of the game. Rumor has it (through the "Uncle Party" Tom Henderson) that the game could be released as early as October 2022, but Activision hasn't announced anything about it yet.
Rumor has it that due to poor sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard, the new Call of Duty may debut this year earlier than originally planned. What will happen in the coming months remains to be seen, but such a leak certainly seems to be a harbinger of a major upcoming event.
