According to a new foreign study, Tesla was recently named "the most trusted brand in the field of fully autonomous vehicles". Apple also unexpectedly made the list, ranking sixth.
According to a report released by research institute AutoPacific, a total of 56 car brands are available for consumers to choose from in the study. Tesla topped the list with 32 percent of the vote.
Surprisingly, Apple was shortlisted for the top ten. Apple doesn't have a vehicle out right now, and rumors are that Apple may be producing vehicles, but 13 percent still choose Apple as their most trusted brand.
Apple's good reputation as a software company and technology giant has clearly made it trustworthy by consumers. With Apple announcing that Kevin Lynch will unveil a fully autonomous car system in November, Apple is likely to develop self-driving cars within 10 years.
In addition, Toyota and BMW are in second and third place with 19% and 18% of the vote, respectively. Chevrolet, Ford, Apple, Honda, Audi, Subaru and Cadillac ranked fourth to tenth.
