At the Dongfeng Ranger Point, there are 3 rangers including Lao Zhu. On weekdays, they patrol on motorcycles and encounter narrow mountain roads, so they can only get off the bus and walk.
Fire prevention, poaching prevention, collection of pest and disease samples... In the lonely mountain forest, rangers perform various duties and carefully guard the Great Meiluo Mountain.
Zhu Zhiwen, 54 years old, has been working as a ranger in Luoshan for more than 20 years, and has been in many rangers in the eastern and western foothills of Luoshan. Lao Zhusheng was born in a village called "Zhu Zhuangzi", located at the foot of Mount Luoshan, and when he was young, he also went up the mountain to collect firewood and herd sheep. For decades, he has witnessed the whole process of ecological restoration and governance of Luoshan Mountain.
His wife and Zhu Zhiwen are peers and are also on duty at the Dongfeng Ranger Point. In the ranger point, pots and pans are readily available, TV and mobile phone signals are also unblocked, and the two families clean up the site as warm as home.
In Luoshan National Nature Reserve, more than 100 rangers are on duty, spread across 22 rangers from the base of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Zhu Zhiwen said that the living conditions of the rangers have improved a lot, so that the rangers can take root and be on duty.
