On March 9, Apple released the third-generation iPhone SE (hereinafter referred to as the new iPhone SE), as well as the green iPhone 13 series. On March 11, online reservations began for these models.
ZAKER Technology found that the appointment time is about to end, and the number of appointments for several models on an e-commerce platform varies.
Among them, the number of appointments for the new iPhone SE is only 36,000, which is a sharp decline from the more than 320,000 appointments of the previous generation of iPhone SE (released in April 2020), and the former is only about 1/10 of the latter.
In terms of configuration, in addition to using the latest A15 chip, 4GB OF RAM and upgraded front and rear glass panels, the new iPhone SE has the same other configurations as the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE II, including a 4.7-inch screen, a single rear camera, Touch ID and so on. Thanks to the A15, the new iPhone SE also supports 5G networks.
In terms of price, the new iPhone SE has three versions, the 64GB version is priced at 3499 yuan, the 128GB version is priced at 3899 yuan, and the 256GB version is priced at 4699 yuan.
There may be two reasons for the low number of appointments, one is its own configuration reasons, the new iPhone SE is not very competitive in the domestic market, the same price Android machine configuration is generally higher than the new iPhone SE; the second is the impact of the iPhone 12 mini.
New iPhone SE
At present, the official price of the iPhone 12 mini Apple is only 3599 yuan, which is only 100 yuan higher than the new iPhone SE.
And because the iPhone 12 mini has a full-screen design, although the 5.4-inch screen is larger than the 4.7-inch screen of the new iPhone SE, the actual body size is smaller. Therefore, for small screen users, the new iPhone SE does not have much appeal.
The new iPhone SE has few other advantages over the iPhone 12 mini except for an A15 chip, so the iPhone 12 mini is likely to have separated a significant number of potential new iPhone SE users.
On the whole, the new iPhone SE is probably already doomed to be "cool".
iPhone 13 Series Green Edition
The number of iPhone 13 series green edition appointments is not much different from the iPhone 12 series purple edition. As of press time, the number of reservations for the entire iPhone 13 series has reached 140,000, slightly higher than the 120,000 purple edition of the iPhone 12 series last year.
It is reported that the official release date of the green version of the new iPhone SE and iPhone 13 series is on March 18.
