On the fifth day after the tooth extraction, the doctor asked: Does your mouth stink?

There were two weeks of vacation before the Spring Festival, and I went to deal with the wisdom teeth that had been messing around. I thought that I would be able to recover quickly after the tooth extraction, and I would be able to eat hard dishes when I arrived at the New Year, but I didn't expect that the whole holiday chicken flew and the dog jumped, and the big Chinese New Year's Eve could only eat a bowl of potato flour and hot greens...

If there is any good thing, it is that I have lost 6 pounds because I have not eaten much.

On the day of the tooth extraction

There is also the leisure to flip through the doctor's circle of friends

About last year, I noticed a wisdom tooth popping up on the back of my lower left tooth. Whenever I am tired, it will faintly hurt, and this sense of presence from time to time makes me very upset. Just two weeks before the New Year, I was on vacation, so I decided to take advantage of this leisure to remove this wisdom tooth and never have any trouble.

Do it when you think of it! I immediately made an appointment for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. Since the wisdom tooth on my other side was very easy to pull out a few years ago and was raised in a few days, I didn't care about this wisdom tooth. My heart was still beautifully calculating: the two weeks of vacation a few years ago were enough for me to recover well, and I would be happy to eat during the New Year!

January 17th, the day of tooth extraction. The dentist brother who visited me saw the film and introduced me to the teeth: "Your wisdom teeth in the lower left have grown a little, but most of them are still buried inside." So I'll cut the flesh and turn the flap first. After that, if you can, you can pry it straight up. If the teeth are relatively firm, cut the teeth open, remove them separately, and then suture them. "I didn't panic after listening to it, saying that the last tooth is also this process, no problem at all, everything is left to you."

On the fifth day after the tooth extraction, the doctor asked: Does your mouth stink?

I easily reclined in the dental chair. After two injections of anesthesia, the surgical instruments cut through my flesh without emotion. The doctor said: "This tooth is very strong, then we don't have much time, directly cut Ha." I nodded my head in agreement, thinking, Cut it, cut it down and maybe it will take a few minutes to get it done.

I didn't expect this to lie, so I lay down for more than an hour - the doctor's brother cut and drilled and pried for me, and eighteen weapons were all in line; the nurse sister next to me also took a suction tube and sucked and sucked for me, so I was not busy. During the process, I tried to cooperate with the doctor's request to "lower my head", and when I finished, I felt that my body was stiff, not at all the confident me when I was lying on the dental chair.

The dentist explained that the tooth itself was relatively strong, and there was a bone between the roots of the tooth, which was useless considering that smashing with a hammer was not conducive to recovery. Afterwards, he also prescribed me antibiotics and painkillers to inform me of post-operative precautions. That night I took my medicine as prescribed by my doctor, and everything was fine.

Greeting from the doctor: How do you feel now?

Me: Feeling a little hungry.

doctor:......

I still had the leisure to flip through his circle of friends and found his cover very interesting.

Fifth day after tooth extraction

The doctor asked: Do you stink in your mouth?

January 18th, the day after tooth extraction. In the evening, I found my great aunt coming uninvited. I did my homework before the tooth extraction and saw someone say that it is best to avoid the menstrual period, otherwise there may be some risks. So I deliberately chose the middle of the two menstrual periods to extract my teeth. But I never expected that the next menstrual period was a little earlier than half a month!

I was a little flustered and quickly asked the doctor. After receiving the advice to "pay attention to rest", I decided to go to sleep again.

Before going to bed that night, I felt a little sore and sore in the wound area. By the third and fourth days, the pain was getting stronger and stronger, not only had it not eased. I had to take an extra painkiller on top of my normal medication to fall asleep. At that time, I only thought that the painkiller was not working well, so I asked the doctor if I could change the painkiller, and he recommended another one. However, I did not get any better after taking the new medicine.

January 21st, the fifth day after tooth extraction. I felt the pain of the wound worsen, the soreness swelled, and the person began to sweat. The painkiller instructions say "2 capsules a day," but I have to take 4 capsules to barely fall asleep. Even so, I attributed it all to menstrual discomfort at the time.

Dentist Routine Tracking: How are you feeling today?

Me: I felt bad today...

Doctor: Is it painful in the place where the tooth is extracted?

Me: Yeah, I felt a lot of pain today and I was sweating.

Doctor: Is there severe pain that spreads all the way to the temples? Does the mouth have a pronounced odor?

Me: None of them. Although it hurts, it is not "severe pain".

Doctor: Then look again, you can record the time and extent of the pain, pay attention to oral hygiene, and come to the next Monday for a follow-up consultation.

Later, I learned that the doctor asked me that "severe pain that spreads to the temples" and "foul odor in the mouth" are the two main symptoms of dry groove disease. Dry groove is one of the common complications after tooth extraction.

At that time, neither of my symptoms was particularly obvious, and coupled with the resistance to going to the hospital, I delayed going to the hospital for two days.

Big brother, don't stand dry groove fever flag!

On January 24th, a week after the tooth extraction, I lay down on the familiar dental chair again. After the dentist's brother examined it, he said: "There is inflammation in the tooth extraction socket, suppuration, and some food scraps." "The doctor rinsed my wound several times and prescribed an additional antibiotic. He told me: "This flush and the new antibiotics go hand in hand, and normally, inflammation and pain will gradually disappear." ”

I vaguely felt that I might have to come again. But at that time, I still had a big heart, and I felt that there was such a big wound after the tooth extraction, coupled with the discomfort of the menstrual period, these pains were normal.

On the 9th day after the tooth extraction, even if I added another medicine, my pain still did not improve, and I had to swallow 2 painkillers before going to bed at night.

Doctor: How did you feel today?

Me: I don't feel good...

Doctor: Has there been any change?

Me: Seems a little better than when it hurts the most?

Doctor: In another day, if you still do this, come to the hospital. I asked our director to consult with us. Dry trough disease may be considered.

I:...... Big brother, don't make a flag!

On the 10th day after the tooth extraction, even with the continuous medication, I felt that the pain had spread behind my ears and that the gums near the wound seemed to be swollen. Realizing that something was wrong, I immediately made an appointment with the dentist and went to the hospital the next day.

Clean up the "clucking" sound of the tooth socket

Straight to the brain

After a night of anxiety and suffering, I stood at the door of the hospital again, and I really had a feeling of "the wind is cold and the water is cold". This time, the head of the department also came, and after carefully examining my wound with the dentist brother, they jointly concluded that it was dry groove disease.

I learned that now my tooth extraction socket is empty. Some people with dry groove will have rotten necrosis in the tooth socket and a foul smell in the mouth, and I don't. As for the other main symptom, severe pain, I didn't feel "intense" before, maybe, probably, maybe, because I was more tolerant...

Treatment begins. Start with anesthesia and do a thorough debridement. I was lying on the dental chair and felt the instrument clean my tooth socket, and the sound of "clucking" went straight through the skull to my brain... I can't help but imagine what it was like... Thank you very much for the invention of anesthetics!

I don't know how long it took—because I seemed to have lost my sense of time—when I finally heard the doctor say, "Okay, the blood is out!" "Then the wound was stuffed with iodoform yarn strips.

After this process, I felt relaxed all of a sudden! There is really no harm without comparison, the previous pain turned out to be abnormal, but I always thought that after the tooth extraction, it would hurt, and I have been self-deceived. The long-lasting pain in the past was really torturous, but now it doesn't hurt anymore, and I feel better.

After such a toss, this year I was doomed to lose touch with big dishes and hard dishes. However, the big Chinese New Year's Eve ate a bowl of chicken soup potato flour and scalded some greens, which I think is also quite good.

Next, the condition of the wound was obviously getting better and better every day. After 10 days I went to the hospital for a follow-up examination and removed the yarn. After hearing the doctor's examination and saying, "Yes, the granulations have grown, don't worry about it", I finally really felt at ease. Now, my wound is still a black hole there, waiting for it to grow slowly.

I would like to remind everyone who extracts teeth that they must pay attention to their physical condition. If you feel that something is wrong after the tooth extraction, you must reflect it to the doctor in time and deal with it in time. Don't be like me, confused and confused, think that the pain after tooth extraction is normal, and have survived for so many days.

What are your stories about toothache?

As the saying goes: toothache is not a disease, it hurts to kill people. Obviously the teeth are sore and soft, and occasionally faintly painful, "dental phobia" makes many people discouraged from the hospital door, can only enter under the pressure of more and more pain, and finally tearfully empty the wallet. What kind of entanglement has occurred between you and the toothache? Feel free to share your experience with us.
