In the past 20 years, the writer Shen Nian has gone to the wetland of Dongdongting Lake and the Yangtze River integration island more than 100 times, and has seen the fate and personnel changes of migratory birds, fish, elk, finless porpoises and other creatures in the changing times, and has written what he has seen and thought about as a book "Great Lake News". In this book, the author uses the experience and feelings of individual walking and the reality of the survival of the people in the Lake District to tell the intersection of the life of the Lake And the fate of the people and the land in the Lake District.
Recently, the "Great Lakes News" seminar jointly sponsored by the College of Literature of Chinese University, the Magazine of People's Literature, and the Hunan Writers Association was held in Beijing.

Ji Yaya and Shen Nian, deputy editors of October Magazine, are home to a place in Huarong County, Yueyang, Hunan Province, a small highland between Dongting Lake and the Yangtze River, and people who live here seem to have had to deal with the "jianghu relationship" since childhood. Ji Yaya said: "We have to deal with the local character and local experience cultivated by this land in the sense of human geography, and we must also deal with many emotional problems. What I read in Shen Nian's book is a personal life experience at the forefront, but the writer brings the knowledge accumulated over the years to experience the writing about memory and time when he returns to his hometown. ”
The content of the first part of "Great Lakes News" is related to the ecology of the lake area, and the second part is written about the sons and daughters of the rivers and lakes, that is, the livelihood and fate of the people of the Great Lakes. Many of the chapters make Ji Yaya, who once lived here, feel kind, such as a lot of local wild knowledge, such as whether the rainbow falls in the water or on the shore means different weather; for example, the local habit of drinking morning wine, not because of laziness, but because of humidity; and the frequent appearance of finless porpoises and jumping out to "worship the wind", which means that the storm is coming... As for the personnel part, Ji Yaya said: "Shen Nian also wrote about many legends of uncertain fate, a girl will believe in chance encounters, believe in the kindness of strangers, this is a natural romance, with the courage to give herself to strangers, which is related to water, with natural flow and wandering. ”
Shi Zhanjun, editor-in-chief of People's Literature magazine, said that in recent years, a kind of "village-based cadre" writing has been encouraged, that is, young writers can return to the countryside, discover cultural relics, and see the lifeblood content of rural development.

And "Great Lake News" is like this, Shen Nian has a long-term experience in the lake area, and with his problems and doubts about the changes in Dongting Lake over the years to a remote place to interview, with a conscious physical consciousness into the Dongting Lake area of this life field, during the visit, Shen Nian saw a lake that is different from the past cognition, and saw a broader temperament and heart than the lake in people. Over the years, the return of fields to lakes, ecological restoration, ten years of fishing bans, and the protection of a lake with clear water have become people's consciousness and self-examination. The history and changes of Dongting Lake, the encounters and changes of people, the existence and disappearance of wetland animals and plants, all the life of the Great Lake, they and their rough fate trajectory and the details of their furry life constitute the whole story of the Great Lake News.
Critic Rao Xiang believes that Shen Nian puts the environment and human destiny together to write, just through the development, change, vicissitudes of human destiny, in order to have a deeper understanding of the history of ecological development, "indeed from the perspective of human destiny to understand the complexity and richness of this matter, he also wrote about the tension between ecological protection and economic development, the tension at the level of character fate and government decision-making, which is a place where writers and essayists provide richer information than news reports." ”
Li Lanyu, deputy editor of People's Literature magazine, also discussed the subject of this work from the perspective of natural poetics: "He is not only an intellectual subject who dominates the world or perceives the world, but also pursues the harmonious coexistence of man and nature, and when he re-handles the relationship between man and water, man is very stoic. "He turns all this into a kind, sincere, and somewhat flexible sense of substitution in the text, which actually contains a lot of sharp and questioning, but he uses a flexible way to substitute, producing an infectious force that communicates with the reader." Shi Zhanjun said.
In the "Children of the Rivers and Lakes" section, specific to the story of a person, although it appears in prose, the author uses many novel brushstrokes in it, such as "Turning into Water to Meet". Writer Xu Zechen shared, "I thought it was a novel at first, but in the end I found that the author was still written as prose, and the story is very prominent in this book, in addition, we will find that the world is very complex, so complex that we will feel that our words are very weak, and what is written is always only a very small corner of the world, but we can at least retain some details of the world." For example, in "Meet as Water", many years later, when we go to the big lake to harvest reeds, we may no longer need to take the sickle and cut it a little bit, which is the meaning of our writing. ”
"In my opinion, the best part is the water town landscape in China after the arrival of the new era, this landscape is quiet, but it is restless, you can see the relationship between water and people, the formation of a new relationship between man and nature." At the end of the seminar, the author Shen Nian also shared his experience when writing, "It can be said that this book was written for more than twenty years," Shen Nian said, "Fundamentally, my understanding of Dongting Lake is deepened by encounters, acquaintances, and acquaintances with migratory birds, elk, plants, fish, fishermen, researchers, and volunteers." Like the people who live in the Lake District, I draw strength from the vast currents. I write about the sun, moon, stars, wind, frost, rain and snow there, and I also write about the joys, sorrows, sorrows, and joys there. I am actually writing about a sentient, righteous, sad and joyful world, writing down my understanding of life and nature, and writing down the life experience and life consciousness that I have experienced and possessed. ”
Shen Nian, born in 1979, is a member of the Chinese Writers Association, vice chairman of the Hunan Writers Association, and a master of arts in creative writing at Chinese Min University.
