The protagonist, Jie Zhenguo, has been performing on stage since the play came out until 1964, and has been starring Mr. Xu Rongkui, a famous actor and a disciple of Tang Yunsheng. Later, due to health reasons, Xu Rongkui gradually retreated into the background, taking on the design of the singing voice and administrative leadership (then the head of the Tangshan Peking Opera Troupe).

The film version of Jie Zhenguo is played by Zhang Haitao, a famous actor and artist of the Tang Dynasty. The son-in-law of Tang Yunsheng, the founder of the Zhang Tang School of art, is deeply impressed by the true legend of Nai Weng art, with a beautiful figure and a heroic appearance. However, it is still Mr. Xu Rongkui who undertakes the national singing voice and dialogue of Jie Zhen.

In 1965, the Second Troupe of Chinese Peking Opera rehearsed the Peking Opera "Jie Zhenguo", with Peking Opera performance artist Zhang Chunhua playing Jie Zhenguo and Li He playing Hu Zhifa. In the same year, the China Recording Agency recorded records for Zhang Chunhua and Li Hezeng. The Wuhan Peking Opera Troupe also rehearsed the Peking Opera "Jie Zhenguo", in which the famous Peking Opera performance artist Gao Shenglin played Jie Zhenguo.

After the successful performance in Beijing, in late September 1964, the Ministry of Culture was assigned the task of shooting the film "Jie Zhenguo", and the Peking Opera "Jie Zhenguo" was brought to the screen from the stage. After the filming was completed, it was sent to Beijing for selection, and several ministers of the Ministry of Culture gave a high evaluation after watching it, and after sending it to Zhongnanhai for review, it was quickly approved for screening nationwide, and it was decided that this film could be exported abroad.

The Ministry of Culture instructed the Beijing Peking Opera House to remake "Jie Zhenguo", so Tan Yuanshou and others came to Tangshan, and after watching the movie "Jie Zhenguo" at the Xishan pass club, Tan Yuanshou sighed on the spot: "My voice is not as good as Brother Xu."

In the late 1970s, "Jie Zhenguo", which was performed at the Hufangqiao Workers' Club, was divided into A and B corners by Tan Yuanshou and Geng Qichang. At that time, the audience said that it was good or bad, but it could not surpass Mr. Xu Rongkui at all.
