In March, MediaTek brought the first mobile platform chip of the year: the Tianji 8000 series. The author understands that MediaTek released a series of new products on the 5G mobile platform of Tianji on March 1, including Tianji 8100 and Tianji 8000.
The author understands that the Tianji 8100 and Tianji 8000 5G mobile platforms use TSMC's 5nm process and have excellent performance and energy efficiency. Both chips use an octa-core CPU architecture design, the Tianji 8100 is equipped with four Arm Cortex-A78 cores with a main frequency of 2.85GHz and four Arm Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores, and the Core Frequency of the Cortex-A78 core of the Tianji 8000 is 2.75GHz.
In addition, the Tianji 8100 and Tianji 8000 5G mobile platforms use Arm Mali-G610 six-core GPU, equipped with MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 game engine, support for quad-channel LNDDR5 memory and UFS3.1 flash memory, providing high-speed data transmission.
The Tianji 8000 series integrates MediaTek's 5th-generation AI processor, APU 580, to provide energy-efficient AI computing power in all-scenario applications such as multimedia, gaming, video and video. Both platforms, the Tianji 8100 and Tianji 8000, are equipped with Imagiq780 image signal processors, with processing speeds of up to 5 billion pixels per second.
In terms of other specifications, the Tianji 8000 series adopts a new generation of R16 5G baseband, supports 5G Sub-6GHz full-band network and 2CCCA dual carrier aggregation technology, 5G downlink speed can reach 4.7Gbps, supports 5G + 5G dual card dual standby, and also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. It can support up to 200 million pixel cameras and 4K60 frames HDR10+ video recording, enhance low-light shooting capabilities, and support dual-camera HDR video simultaneous recording.
The Tianji 8000 series adopts MediaTek's global energy efficiency optimization technology, which can cover different IP modules in an all-round way and optimize the power consumption of all scenarios. In simple terms, the mobile phone load is divided into light load, medium load and heavy load according to the user usage scenario, and different use scenarios correspond to different energy efficiency optimizations.
As for the difference between Tianji 8000 and Tianji 8100, it is mainly in terms of frequency, the former CPU maximum frequency is 2.75GHz, while the CPU frequency of Tianji 8100 can reach 2.85GHz. In addition, the frequency of the GPU and APU of the Tianji 8100 will be higher, so the author believes that the comprehensive performance of the Tianji 8100 is stronger.
In addition, MediaTek also launched the Tianji 1300 5G mobile platform, based on TSMC's 6nm process, using an octa-core CPU architecture, including a 3.0GHz Arm Cortex-A78 super core, three Arm Cortex-A78 large cores and four Arm Cortex-A55 energy efficiency cores, with Arm Mali-G77 GPU and MediaTek's third-generation APU. It can support up to 200 million pixel cameras, also integrates the HyperEngine 5.0 game engine, and improves night shooting and HDR capabilities.
The author understands that MediaTek's chips will be listed in the first quarter to the second quarter of 2022. In this way, there should be a large number of new machines equipped with Tianji 8000 series chips on the market in March.
