VR healthcare startup XRHealth has announced $10 million in new funding from HTC, Bridges Israel impact investment fund, AARP, StartEngine.com crowdfunding support and existing investor support. It is reported that the new funds will be used to expand the virtual health care treatment of the metacosm.

Founded in 2016, XRHealth was the first company to create a VR clinic to provide remote care to patients across the United States. XRHealth builds an XR platform that combines medical applications with advanced data analytics and provides a comprehensive solution for clinicians and patients. With XRHealth's technology, patients can analyze and quantify their body's physical performance and track progress over time.

It is reported that the FDA registration software provided by the company is mainly for the rehabilitation, cognitive training and stress relief of back, shoulder and neck injuries, and the team is exploring the use of the social features of its platform to allow patients to join the VR support group hosted by doctors. The company also provides a separate portal for medical professionals, helping them to quickly understand the progress of their patients.

At present, XRHealth's VR medical plan has been included in major medicare coverage such as Medicare and registered through the FDA and CE. Consumers can rent hardware directly from XRHealth, which waived all rental fees during the pandemic and worked with insurance providers to waive co-payments, currently offering Pico Neo 2 and Vive Focus headsets to patients, and the software is compatible with Oculus hardware.
