The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Pripyat, Ukraine, built in 1973 and commissioned in 1977, was the largest and most technologically advanced nuclear power plant in the world at that time. On the afternoon of April 25, after the person in charge finished his explanation, he left work as usual, and the duty personnel carried out their work in an orderly manner, and there were no emergencies until the early morning. Just as everyone was falling asleep, a huge explosion resounded through the night sky, the lid of reactor No. 4 weighing more than 2,000 tons soared into the sky, a large amount of nuclear fuel with super-strong radiation erupted into the sky like a volcanic eruption, and a colorful cloud of fire appeared over Pripyat.
Firefighters received the alarm, within 15 minutes to the scene, but at this time they did not know that there was a nuclear leak, thinking that it was just an ordinary explosive fire, so 28 firefighters in the absence of any protective measures, the first time into the fire, completely exposed to super radiation, no suspense, this piece of rescue personnel are not spared, all sacrificed.
Two days later, the Soviet government realized the seriousness of the incident and began to evacuate the nearby residents, after which it took a full month to remove all the hundreds of thousands of residents within a 30-kilometer radius. However, because the time dragged on too long, the residents' bodies absorbed too much radiation, and they did not get rid of the serious sequelae caused by radiation in the end, most of them died in the torment of illness, and their descendants were also deeply affected, either deformed or died early.
