"Samurai love swords, literati love Yan." In the Chinese Yan culture, Chengni Yan has always occupied a pivotal position. As one of the four famous stones in China, the production process of Chengni Yan in Daizhou can be traced back to the Han Dynasty, flourished in the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Song Dynasty, and reached pure fire in the Ming Dynasty, but due to historical reasons, the traditional production techniques have been lost for more than 300 years.
In 1986, Lin Tao and his father Lin Yongmao established the Chengniyan Research and Development Institute in Xindi County, and began a long research and development work. After nearly 10 years of exploration, thousands of experiments, from design drawings, formula ingredients, sculpture carving to kiln design, firing, etc., each process they have practiced, gradually mastered the technical essentials of each process, and finally made one of the four famous Chinese stones of three hundred years of generation "Daizhou Chengniyan" re-emerged. In 1994, it won the gold medal of China Famous Stone Expo, and in 2006, it was recognized as "China Well-known Trademark". In 2008, Lin's "Cheng Ni Yan Production Technique" was selected into the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
The Zodiac Yan is a microcosm of Lin Tao's fusion of Yantai and traditional culture. "This is the Tiger Howling Wind Yan, this is the Matsukaze Zhihu Lai Yan... This is the latest six tiger zodiac signs. Every year we launch the Zodiac series of yantais, which have been done for four rounds. At the Chengniyan production base in Guangcun, Lin Tao introduced his Tiger Year Zodiac Yan in a number of rare ways.

A series of themed stones such as "Five Stars Out of the Orient Li China Yan", "Rui Jin Yan", "Great Wall of Steel", "Prosperous China Yan", "Chinese Dream Yan", "Don't Forget the Initial Heart Yan" and so on have been treasured by more than 20 state-level pavilions such as the Shanghai World Expo, the Military Museum of the Chinese Revolution, the Lugou Bridge Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, and the Nanjing Massacre Compatriots Memorial Hall.
In 2020, the "Tour Shanxi, Read History" series of "Visiting Shanxi, Reading History" series of Daizhou Chengniyan, which integrates cultural elements such as scenic spots, local characteristics, and humanistic stories from 117 counties in Shanxi, began to be designed and produced.
In 2021, celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Party, the "Mainstay Yan", "the Fiery Red Age Yan", the "Light of Faith Yan", the "Dream Set Sail Yan", "the Great Turning Point Yan", "the People First Yan", "the New Era Yan", the "National Rejuvenation Yan", the "Great Cause of the Founding of the Country" and the "Take-off Stone of the Motherland" came out.
