Fully printed artificial neurons in flycatchers are tuned with a high input current (10 μA) because of the higher stimulation frequency, the flytraps shut down under two spikes of stimulation. Figure according to the paper

Simone Fabiano and collaborators at Linköping University in Sweden found in a study that an artificial neuron can successfully communicate with the biological cells of the flytrap and also allow the flycatcher to close its leaves. The research results may be of great significance for the development of brain-computer interfaces and soft robots in the future. The study was published In Nature Communications on February 23. A study published Feb. 24 in the journal Nature suggests that the Hicksulub asteroid impact event that ended the dinosaur era (Mesozoic) occurred in the spring of the Northern Hemisphere. An international team of researchers came to this conclusion after examining flakes of fish bones that died less than 60 minutes after the asteroid impact, high-resolution synchrotron radiation X-ray scans and carbon isotope recordings. The discovery helps explain subsequent patterns of extinction while improving understanding of this critical moment in Earth's history. (Source: Science and Technology Daily)
