On February 25, Yangquan City officially issued a pilot license for the commercialization of intelligent and connected vehicle autonomous driving services and a pilot license notice for the commercialization of unmanned travel services for intelligent and connected vehicles to Baidu "Radish Run", and on February 27, Radish Run began to provide paid services for autonomous driving demonstration applications to the public. Yangquan is another commercial landing city after Beijing and Chongqing, marking that Baidu Apollo's self-driving travel service not only covers the first-tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Super, but also is being promoted to small and medium-sized cities in an orderly manner. At the same time, the landing of radish fast running will further empower the construction of digital economy in smart cities, making the "city of smart cars" a new business card of Yangquan.
The landing of radish fast running is inseparable from Yangquan City's investment and support for the construction of digital economy and intelligent network connection. As early as March 2020, Yangquan City opened the autonomous vehicle road coordination demonstration area, as a pilot project for the construction of a strong transportation country in Shanxi Province, has successfully opened a global urban test section and a 13-kilometer high-speed test section, realizing a full range of vehicles, vehicles and road dynamic real-time information interaction, and on the basis of the collection and integration of dynamic traffic information in all time and space, carry out vehicle active safety control and road collaborative management, laying a good environmental foundation for the commercialization of automatic driving of Radish Fast Running.
According to the plan, after the pilot project of commercialization of autonomous driving travel services in Yangquan, users can experience autonomous driving travel services through the "Radish Run" App, using the traditional mileage pricing mode of the travel industry, which is in line with the public perception of travel scenarios. In the early stage, 30 stations were set up, and the operating time lasted from 9:00 to 17:00, and the demonstration route took the government affairs center of the high-tech zone as the core, radiating the government affairs gathering area, the residential gathering area, and the high-tech industrial area, fully meeting the transportation needs of government services, bus connections, work-residential commuting and so on in the region. In the future, with the deepening of the layout of Radish Fast Running in Yangquan, the operating routes and stations will continue to expand to further meet the daily travel needs.
Yangquan City is located in the middle of Taiyuan and Shijiazhuang, two provincial capitals, and is known as "Jinji to Balance".
