Our city has been rated as an advanced city (county) in national grain production for many consecutive years, is a national super grain producing county and commodity grain base county, the core grain production area of Henan Province, the head of the south-to-north water diversion project and the water resources protection area, and in 2021 it was selected as a pioneer county for the modernization of agricultural science and technology in the country.
Wheat is one of the main grain crops in our city, with a perennial planting area of about 2.2 million mu and a total output of more than 2 billion catties. The establishment of a state-level high-quality special wheat planting county in our city is of great significance to improving the quality of wheat, improving the efficiency of growing grain, promoting the increase of farmers' income, promoting the industrialization of high-quality grain in our city, and ensuring national food security.

Our city has established a wheat seed production base of 300,000 mu all year round, with an annual output of 180 million jin, and the sales area is not only to meet the agricultural production of our city, the annual export of seeds is more than 100 million jin, and the sales scope is Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Anhui, etc. In the production process, we should conscientiously implement the "Technical Regulations for crop seed production", strictly manage the field, ensure the quality of seed production, and all the seed quality meets the national standards.
The city's seed enterprises and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other 58 scientific research units have established a close cooperative relationship, the city's agricultural technicians 253 people throughout the city's 29 township offices, and there are a large number of rural technical backbones, science and technology demonstration households reached 60,000 households, the city's soil fertilizer, plant protection township-level service stations 42, 321 village-level service stations, the infrastructure is relatively perfect, there are no quarantine pests in the region.
