According to the announcement, in 2021, Teradyal's operating income was US$3.703 billion, an increase of 18.63% year-on-year, of which product revenue was US$3.197 billion and service revenue was US$506 million; net profit was US$1.015 billion, an increase of 29.39% year-on-year; gross profit margin was 59.6%, R&D expenses as a proportion of operating income was 11.5%, and net profit margin was 27.4%.
Specifically, according to the product type, semiconductor testing accounted for 71%, system testing accounted for 13%, industrial automation accounted for 10%, and wireless testing accounted for 6%.
Semiconductor test revenue increased 16.9 percent, primarily due to higher tester sales driven by tester processors and industrial and automotive equipment, partially offset by lower tester sales for mobile application processors, the company said.
System test revenue increased 14.2 percent, primarily due to higher storage test sales for system-level test requirements and higher sales for production board tests.
Industrial automation revenue grew 34.4 percent, driven by demand for collaborative robotic arms and collaborative autonomous mobile robots.
Wireless test revenue increased 25.4%, primarily due to higher sales of WiFi testers and higher demand for ultra-wideband wireless testing.
By geographical location, Taiwan accounts for the highest proportion of 30%, followed by Chinese mainland, accounting for 17%, South Korea accounted for 14%, the United States accounted for 11%, and Europe accounted for 7%.
