Musk: I'm a fan of Rust, but I choose C for performance

IT House February 24 news, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently issued some views on programming languages.

Greg Brockman, CTO of OpenAI, tweeted that the most underappreciated aspect of programming is writing error messages. A good misinformation should be self-evident:

(a) What the user did

(b) What is the acceptable input

(c) How to solve the problem

Musk: I'm a fan of Rust, but I choose C for performance

Musk agreed in the comments section, while saying that the compiler could do better, but not enough.

Then, a big V named @jack replied that the Rust language had solved the compiler problem.

Musk said he is a fan of Rust and is very extensible. However, for best performance, C with a custom compiler on dedicated hardware is the best choice, which is important for max frame rates on inferred computers on cars.

In addition to this, Musk (the company) mainly uses C++ and Python.

IT House understands that Musk also acknowledges the limitations of C in other areas and says that it is absolutely not necessary to use C unless it is optimized for hardware performance.
