Wang Shi, founder of Vanke Group and honorary chairman of the Asian Rowing Federation, recently braved the cold wind to wave the oars at the training ground of the Pudong Campus of Lixin Finance Institute, together with the teachers and students of the rowing team of Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance.
The school also reached a preliminary intention with the deep diving rowing club founded by Wang Shi on the strategic cooperation of sports.
Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance Student Water Sports Club was established in 2017 to carry out dragon boat, rowing, kayaking, paddle board and other water sports, with two main sports, dragon boat and rowing. In major competitions across the country, the team members are all from ordinary students in school.
In 2021, at the 17th Shanghai Suzhou Creek City Dragon Boat Invitational Competition, the Lixin Dragon Boat Team won the bronze medal in the University Dragon Boat Competition. At the 2021 Shanghai Rowing Open, the Lixin Rowing Team won the third place in the mixed group of eight-a-side rowing colleges.
In the 2021 National Collegiate Rowing Championships, the Lixin Rowing Team won two more gold medals, achieving a historic breakthrough.
Yang Li, president of Shanghai Lixin Institute of Accounting and Finance, hopes that the two sides will further strengthen cooperation in the future and jointly contribute to the prosperity of college sports. Wang Shi expressed his appreciation for the construction of the school's high-level sports team and the innovative development of campus sports culture, and hoped that Lixin could build it into a benchmark rowing demonstration university.
