Study Notes (70) 丨 High-intensity learning is painful; the way to reduce pain is retrograde

In order to increase the readability of the account, study notes are released on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. (Notes are excerpts and do not represent personal views)

1, high-intensity learning, is painful; the way to reduce pain, is retrograde

As a lazy cancer procrastinator and afraid of trouble, I grew up trying to find a way to learn happily, but after so many years, the final realization is:

Intense learning itself is an extremely inhuman thing.

With the exception of a very few geniuses, this is painful for ordinary people.

Most people insist on high-intensity learning because they are forced (further education, work needs), and once there is no pressure from learning in the external environment, they will quickly abandon this painful behavior.

The only way to reduce this pain is to maintain a higher intensity (within one's reach) of learning, making it a long-term habit and reducing the loss of willpower.

As well as adapting the body to this painful feeling (which also has a lot to do with the state of physical health).

Ironically, if you choose to escape because of the pain of learning, you can't get rid of the anxiety (or objective problems that can't be avoided in reality) caused by stagnant growth and thus cause more pain.

The most effective solution is to face the pain of learning again.

Of course, learning does eventually bring you more benefits (none of the entrepreneurs and businessmen I know around me do not maintain the habit of studying).

So since learning to get more wealth is a very clear positive feedback system, can the expectation of earnings be used to increase motivation to offset some of the pain of learning?

It was theoretically possible, but in reality it was rare to see success stories, and I later figured out why.

Because most people crave wealth far less than they hate risk — stemming from the less-well-adapted part of our dna that has been passed down for tens of thousands of years.

And those rare people in life who are willing to continue to learn and think, what are their characteristics?

In my personal observation, their greatest common denominator is their desire to continue to solve a higher problem.

2, the cost of the true self is very high, most people can not afford it

The more I grow, the more I like to live in my own world.

Don't touch all the non-essential things you don't like.

At this age, at this stage, I should not have to flatter most people to be myself.

Most people's mental illness lies in the evolution of themselves rather than becoming "me".

The cost of the true self is high, and most people can't afford it.

3. Language proficiency depends on vocabulary quality

Scientific research continues to demonstrate the importance of intuitive parenting and interactive learning.

The New York Times Science Edition on October 16, 2014, said: "The study found that language proficiency depends on the quality of vocabulary, not the quantity. ”

Scholars who study typical and atypical child development have long known that throwing just a bunch of words, letters, numbers, and the like into a child's developing brain won't help.

Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, lead author of the New York Times article and Temple University, summed up her findings this way:

It's not just a matter of throwing a lot of words at your child, it's about having a fluid conversation around everyday situations and physical objects.

For example, pretending to be having breakfast milk together, or using bananas as a phone call.

That's what constitutes language.

4. The response contains a lot of educational content

Intuitive parenting requires only a natural response from the parent to the child after he or she takes action.

This is what brain scientists and behavioral scientists call the "feedback loop."

In fact, the child's behavior causes the parents to respond, and the parents' responses cause the child to have another, perhaps different reaction, which in turn causes the parents to respond again, and so on.

For the development of the child, the back-and-forth interaction between the parents or any caregiver and the child contains a large number of "educational contents" that are no less important than any other activity.

5. Creativity

Creativity is an important ability that parents should continue to cultivate in their children.

Research on creativity has shown that when telling a story or listening to a story, it may be the left brain that is active;

When a crossword puzzle or inspiration appears, it is the right brain that is active.

The task of parents is to read stories to their children and encourage them to make up and tell their own stories to promote creative development.
