The daily life of Zhao Yaoyao and other Jianshui potters is almost the same - mud making, drawing blanks, decorating, carving, firing... But what is different from others is that it is obsessed with the collection and collation of yunnan ceramic historical materials, almost crazy. The reason is that under the guidance of the teacher, the provenance of history and culture must be examined; Linyi, Shandong, which was born in ancient times and called Langya, has been a place where literary styles gather since ancient times, Xunzi, Erwang, and Zhuge Kongming are all born out of this, and he was born in Si, and he is not unfamiliar with art activities such as calligraphy and painting appreciation and collection.
"Jianshui purple pottery has many famous holy hands, a skill after decades of tempering, have reached the peak, but Jianshui purple pottery is positioned as art pottery, in addition to technology, art, academic literacy is also particularly important." I studied with Teacher Wu Baiyu and realized that purple pottery is not only a technology, a kind of arts and crafts, or a discipline of pottery, but an expression of a national traditional excellent culture based on the current intangible cultural heritage development, national culture, art science, society and many other perspectives, and is an important part of cultural self-confidence. Zhao Yaoyao thought so.
During the interview, we learned that Zhao Yaoyao vigorously collected historical materials of Yunnan ceramics centered on the Jianshui kiln. From the Yuan Ming Dynasty to the modern era, all ceramic objects, written materials and other items that can reflect the history, development and change of Yunnan ceramics have been involved, which has an extremely important role in the study of Yunnan ceramics.

"I once visited the staff of the Jianshui Arts and Crafts Pottery Factory, and saw a portrait of a person in the 1970s at the old man's place, signed by Mr. Chen Shaokang, the national inheritor of Jianshui Purple Pottery, at that time I was very confused, I had never heard of Teacher Chen drawing, and after careful questioning, I learned that the old man had received art training in Kunming with Teacher Chen Shaokang, and drawing was one of the subjects, and the teacher at that time was Professor Yang Dashen of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University (formerly the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts). This sketch work is also a testimony to the history of Jianshui Purple Pottery Talent Training. ”

Jianshui Arts and Crafts Pottery Factory has made pioneering achievements in the production organization, technology and production scale of Jianshui Purple Pottery, and is a milestone in the development process of Jianshui Purple Pottery. The collection and summary of literature on Jianshui Arts and Crafts Pottery Factory has great reference value for the development of Jianshui purple pottery industry in the future. Zhao Yaoyao walked through the streets and alleys of Jianshui, visited the old man of the pottery factory, and collected a number of important documents, including the "Chronicle of the Jianshui Arts and Crafts Pottery Factory" and the design drawings of the tunnel kiln.
