The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) notes that the concept of a sound museum is not uncommon as a form of documenting culture.

For example, according to Xinhua News Agency, on August 19, 2019, the first "sound museum" in Tibetan areas of Sichuan was officially completed in Dexi Village, Gaocheng Town, Litang County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan. In this "Micro Museum of Himalayan Sounds", which covers an area of only about 180 square meters, it preserves the traditional musical instruments of the Tibetan people, Tibetan music audio and video materials, and valuable ancient Tibetan music scores.

According to a 2018 report by China News Weekly, the "Sound Museum" initiated by the Republic of China writer Ling Shuhua and the grandson of critic Chen Yuan (Chen Xiying), Qin Siyuan, in Shijia Hutong, Dongcheng District, Beijing, there is a physical small space in the museum, a room with a wooden sign of "Hutong Sound", go inside, click on a small multimedia machine, can hear the sound of shouting, bicycle horn, etc., in the spring, summer, autumn, winter four seasons a total of more than 70 kinds of sounds, and even the sound of hutongs in different weather, hear these sounds, It was as if I could return to old Beijing in an instant.

In 2013, the Chaoyangmen Subdistrict Office in Beijing consulted Qin Siyuan about building a hutong museum in the courtyard of his maternal grandmother Ling Shuhua. He recalled the "urban voice" and these interesting questions of that year, and immediately had new inspiration, wanted to make a museum with sound, and started this project at the Shijia Hutong Museum.

At present, the above-mentioned Beijing "Sound Museum" has been relocated to Songzhuang Town.

According to the Hainan Daily, Cai Bao said that the use of high-tech means and new recording methods to show culture is a trend. Hainan's rich island culture contains colorful voices of humanities and nature, inheriting the indigenous culture of thousands of years, and urgently needs to be rescued and presented in various ways.
