At the recent "Galaxy Unpacked 2022", Samsung officially released the new Galaxy S22 series of mobile phones, including three models of Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Still the same as in previous years, the Samsung Galaxy S22 series uses different chips, including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and exynos 2200.

Recently, foreign media Videocardz revealed the relevant parameter information of Exynos 2200, as well as specific test results. In terms of specifications, the Exynos 2200 is equipped with 1 Arm [email protected] GHz super core, 3 [email protected] GHz large cores, and four [email protected] GHz small cores in the CPU part; the GPU is the focus, the Xclipse 920 based on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture, which is said to be at a frequency of 1.3-1.4 GHz, and supports both ray tracing and VRS technologies.
However, compared with the previous generation Exynos 2100, the Exynos 2200 has a limited improvement in testing, and the CPU part is 5% higher than cortex X1 @ 2.91 GHz; the Xclipse 920 GPU developed by AMD RDNA 2 architecture is 17% higher than the Arm public version of Mali-G78 MP14 854MHz.
Editor's comments: From the early tests, the comprehensive performance of the Exynos 2200 can only be described as decent, and the reasons for this result are complex; perhaps because the AMD RDNA 2 architecture is essentially designed for PC devices, and does not focus on low-power mobile platforms, of course, it may also be caused by Samsung's own process. I look forward to better performance in the official version.
