Sony WH-1000XM5 noise-cancelling headphones are FCC certified

On February 14, Sony is preparing to launch the next generation of high-end noise-canceling headphones, and the company's WH-1000XM5 has just appeared in the FCC certification database, which reveals some interesting information.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 will be the successor to the WH-1000XM4, Sony's best-selling headphones for over-the-head noise cancelling headphones that support adjustable digital noise cancellation + smart hands-free conversations for approximately 30 hours of battery life.

The FCC certification shows that the Sony WH-1000XM5 is model YY2954 and appears to be being redesigned, as Sony also printed the FCC IC, model number, and IC number in the headband of the WH-1000XM5, which the WH-1000XM4 certification did not do.

The FCC database also shows that the YY2954 has a 3.8 V rated battery pack, which is higher than the 3.7 V on the WH-1000XM4. The headset will even support 5 V / 9 V charging, implying that the headset also supports fast charging. In addition to this, the Walkman blog also found an import list of YY2954, which is being shipped to Hong Kong and India. The company has reportedly built black and silver prototypes.
